It took about 5 days to make 10 key chains.
I got some wood scraps, so I cut them up again and made them into square pillars and painted them with acrylic paint as I wanted. I painted the key rings with acrylic paints as I wanted. I also applied collage to the panels, but in the case of the key rings, I only painted them because I didn't want them to come off.

I also applied varnish. I heard that the varnish is a matte varnish, so it looks calm. When painting and varnishing, I had to wait until the paint was completely dry before starting the next process, so I had to keep the atelier heated for a long time.

Once the varnish was dry, it was time to attach the metal fittings. We had obtained metal fittings that consisted of a round ring, chain, and heaton all connected together, so we drilled a hole in the top of each piece of wood and screwed the heatons in one by one. It was difficult to work with the chain and heatons tangled together, but I managed to do it.

In this way, we were able to make 10 key chains that are easy to pick up and yet unique. We plan to sell them at the Design Festa in May.
We are also planning to produce one-of-a-kind goods such as uchiwa fans, tenugui hand towels, and tote bags. However, sales are still in the "experimental" stage. We can't charge tens of thousands of yen for them because we want them to be easily accessible. A few thousand yen is the best I can do. I think that so-called handmade goods are not suitable for me.
(Pictures are also handmade, but so-called accessories are not worth the price for me.)

約5日かけて、キーホルダーを10個作りました。
木は端材を手に入れたので、それをまた切るなど少し手を加えて四角柱にして、アクリル絵具を思いのままに塗りたくりました。パネルに描く作品ではコラージュなども施すのですが、キーホルダーの場合は取れてしまったら困るのでペイントオンリーです。

そしてニスも塗りました。つや消しのニスだそうなので落ち着いた感じです。絵具やニスを塗る時は完全に乾いてから次の工程に入らなければなりませんから、アトリエは長時間暖房をつけなければなりませんでした。

ニスが乾いたら金具付けです。金具も丸環、チェーン、ヒートンがひとつながりになっているものを入手していたので、ひとつひとつ木のてっぺんに穴をあけてヒートンをねじ込んでいきました。チェーンとヒートンが絡まって作業しにくかったですが、なんとかできました。

こうして手軽に手に取れて、しかも一つとして同じ物がないキーホルダーが10個できました。これは5月のデザインフェスタで販売する予定です。
こうした1点物グッズは他にうちわを制作中で、あと手ぬぐい、トートバッグの制作も考えています。しかしあくまでも販売は「実験」段階です。手軽に手に取れるようにと考えると、あまり何万円とかいう値段がつけられないのです。数千円が精一杯です。いわゆるハンドメイドというのは、私には向いていないなとグッズを作っていて思います。
（絵もハンドメイドだけど、いわゆるアクセサリーなどは私にとっては価格的に割に合わないのです）
