Boredom is one thing we all dread. Having nothing to do and finding nothing that kills time just feels very weird. Have you been in a tight situation where no matter what you do, time doesn’t seem to move at all? It feels like whatever you’re doing consumes just one second on the clock. Well, that to me sounds like real boredom.

I have found a few ways to get myself over the line when I start to feel like this because it’s very difficult to get through 365 days and not feel like this at least once.

I don’t know how it gets to the point where we feel really bored but I believe we all know the feeling when it comes around. When I feel bored, I tend to listen to music. I am someone who likes to listen to music but when I’m bored, I kind of search for that one song I can listen on repeat. Something that can get me to sing along and fake dance in my head. Cos unlike @khadijaaya, I cannot dance to save my life. She’s promised to teach me some moves so let’s see how that one goes.

Also, I watch movies when I feel bored. I guess this one comes natural to me because I am a movie person and I watch movies on a regular. However, the difference is that when I feel very bored, new movies do not appeal to me so I tend to watch the movies I have already watched. That is when “let it shine”, “the last air bender”, “the Big Bang theory”, among other movies come in handy. Because of this, I do not like to delete movies I have already watched. Is this weird? Does anyone else do this? I’d like to know.

Football is something that takes complete control over me. Since I don’t play anymore I get my joy from watching competitive games on the television. So, when I can, I watch football matches especially the English premier league on tv. When I do that, I tend to ward off any boredom. This especially works for me when my team wins or when rival clubs lose. That makes my entire week. One thing I would advice is that, do not get too emotionally involved in a team. This can wreck your entire week, month or even year when your team loses too much.

Anyway, I guess it’s the emotions that make it more interesting.
