 Hello everyone! Today I am going to share a painting process of orange tulips. I really wanted to post this earlier but I hurt my arm on one of the recent days. I felt numb as it was uncomfortable to lift it so I had the privilege to chill :D Today I felt a lot better and went out. I finally feel much enthusiastic and eager to share about this artwork. <br> ## <center>*Tools and Materials*</center> <br>  This is the oil pastels set I used. I still remember the day I got this set, it was the day the youngest boy my mom used to babysit was born. We got the news of his birth when his sisters and I were visiting Aquaria, KLCC which is an oceanarium. We were in joy and got back home soon so his sisters can be picked to go and visit their mother and new brother in the hospital ♥ <br>  This is how the set looks like. It is quite new as I didn't use it much because of the fond memory attached to it. <br> ### *Other items* * A sketchbook * HB pencil * Eraser <br> <center>https://www.animatedimages.org/data/media/562/animated-line-image-0471.gif</center> ## <center>*Method*</center> <br> ### Drawing Tulips I used a HB pencil to draw. First of all, I drew a little glass container to hold all the flowers in place. Sounds like reverse drawing but doing it this way made it easier so I can set how much space I want for my flowers. Then, I drew the flower bulbs so I know where everything will be. Next, I added the branches. I also added another bulb of flower. Finally, I drew the leaves to fill the empty space and complete the drawing. below is my drawing process. <br>     <br> <center> https://www.animatedimages.org/data/media/562/animated-line-image-0099.gif </center> <br> ### Let's Paint! 🎨 <br>  I started my painting with the lightest colour which is this green yellow. The name of the colour was written on the wrapper. I was afraid I might mess the flowers with other colours so I began with this colour. I painted it on the top part of the flower so it looks highlighted as that is where the light hits first. <br>  Here's a closer look. <br>  I painted a bright yellow in the middle and orange at the bottom of the flower. <br>  Next, I used a mustard yellow colour as the transition shade to blend both the yellow and orange. <br>  I almost messed my artwork when the wrapper suddenly came off loose while I was colouring. By the way I painted the other tulips gradually. <br>  This is the most unpleasant part, which is when the colour gets under my nails -_- <br>   Phew, I finished painting all the flowers. <br>     I painted the leaves as well. I began by painting a small section first to just test the blending of the colours I selected until I was happy with how they looked. Then, I used the same style for all the other leaves as well. The colours I used were light green, warm green and forest green. Of course, this time I got some green under my nails. <br>    At last, I painted the glass container using sky blue colour. It was a beautiful blue and when I was young, I called it 'the icy blue'. I added other colours as well to create a some light refraction effects. The pink and yellow worked well for me. If you use yellow like me, then please be mindful not to mix it with the blue as it will turn green. I did let the pink blend slightly with the blue so it created some purple shades. After that, I painted the bottom sections of the branches with some long strokes. Avoid blending if you do similar artwork so some contrast will exist and create distinct branches. <br>  On the left are all of the colours I used for this artwork. Everything seemed fine, except for the smudge on the right side :( <br>   Tada!! Check this magic out. I managed to get rid of the smudges. After taking all pictures, I just wanted to try one last time to get rid of them and used an eraser and tried to erase. I thought the smudge will become worse but to my surprise, they disappeared! <br>    I finished my artwork of orange tulips. I really enjoyed creating this painting because I like getting my hands 'dirty' using oil pastels as I can touch the colours and I also love flowers. <br> <center>  </center> Thank you for dropping by and have a wonderful day ahead!
