We see these personalities shilling the coin to the curious. We see these people organize social media groups to forward their own agenda. They have one thing in mind: maximize whatever value they can extract from this blockchain and leave when it's dried out.

But there are always people out there who would take advantage of a good thing and ruin it for everyone else. And given the nature of a decentralized ecosystem, right equals might. Hive is just fortunate that most of the people who have power have their priorities straight at protecting the blockchain's value.

Hive has yet to reach a wider audience, but right now it consistently enjoys a steady growth of users. A prevalent problem that plagues the platform since its creation is the attitude the title of this post just gave away. 
</div>

Influencers are the key to get Hive out there. The problem comes when they shill without painting a realistic picture of how the social blockchain works. They need to take some time and level their follower's expectations from the start. Otherwise, they would just shepherd their followers to a difficult Hive experience and that's not good for everyone.

It's absurd to think that a regular user, who did not buy their stake, did not contribute to the blockchain's development, and at zero cost entered the blockchain, would think they are entitled to its rewards for just merely existing without any value contributed to the blockchain's ecosystem.

We think a lot of problems could have been solved before they became a problem if influencers didn't hype up ideas like this blockchain is going to drastically change their financial situations in life. Like posting a picture of what they ate for dinner is going to earn them pay equivalent to working for a few hours.

We've been in the blockchain for a long time. One of the most important lessons we learned is that you have to give or create value into the blockchain first before you can receive its rewards. This means putting shitty content isn't the answer.

Having a sense of entitlement isn't going to give you upvotes. It just makes you look like you deserve to be ignored. This is a social blockchain and value is created from the connections you make. Those connections bring more value to Hive as communities are built on these connections.

When people come together and work towards a common goal, amazing things can happen. And the communities that have thrived on Hive have consistently proven that organizations built on top of a blockchain can accomplish what used to be impossible. 
</div>

We have been always selective of the people we try to get on board. We figured that having a 1 to 1 discussion about this place is more effective than dropping a link to a social media platform and pray that people will catch on. The people we managed to get on board turned out to proficient bloggers.

We heard some whispers accusing us as elitists. At first, we thought it's absurd, but realized later on that those who had the audacity to hurl such accusations are those who had nothing of value to impart in this space in the first place.
</div>

Let's face it. Those who are so entitled about their posts are often those who put shit out there just for the sake of posting. They're so allergic to quality standards. They prefer mediocrity over effort and talent. Some have talent and it's evident in some of their posts, but they chose to forego their talent over something not sustainable in the long term. They are so preoccupied by instant gratification that they're willing to taint their reputation over a few cents worth of rewards.

Once you do something stupid on the blockchain, it remains there copied block after block for the rest of the blockchain's existence.

<b>Hive PH Bootcamp</b> was specifically created to combat this kind of abuse from irresponsible influencers. If you feel that you're not doing well in this platform, start questioning what you're doing wrong and how to improve. It definitely isn't the fault of whales and community curators you don't get noticed.

There's no conspiracy to keep new content creators from prospering in this ecosystem. But there are shillers that just want to get a lot of people on board for their own fanbase. It's a convenient and pathetic excuse to say high HP holders just want to keep most of the rewards for themselves and their circle. It can exist but not as bad as it used to be from the old blockchain.

There are curation efforts and community empowerment programs established now that have made drastic changes to how these rewards are distributed. If influencers want to get Hive out there, they need to contribute to efforts that keep value or add value to the blockchain. It starts with framing some level headed expectations on what this blockchain is about. It's definitely not a get rich quick blockchain.
