Human beings live with uncertainties, vicissitudes, sadness, pleasant moments and other experiences that have other connotations. Among so many elements of daily life for the enjoyment of many people, bingo games stand out, as shown in the photographs. It is an event carried out by the religious community of the church Santa Ana de Caigüire, in the city of Cumaná, where the aforementioned religious community organizes all this event by going through the streets selling the cards and also uses social networks to facilitate the acquisition of such cards from the neighbors who are the players.

Unlike the lottery, here the players have cards with random numbers written on them, each row is identified with a letter of the word: "Bingo". An announcer pulls out each card and announces it out loud (usually with a microphone so that everyone can hear and avoid misunderstandings). The idea is to cross out or write down each number, either with small stones, buttons or even beans, corn or peas.

The game itself takes place in the vicinity of the aforementioned church. This event lasts approximately two and a half hours. The way to win in the bingo is specified by the organizers ranging from winning in groups on the same card as well as the total exit of the card from the card, commonly called full card. And it is usually the last activity to end the event.

Before starting the hand, the organizers indicate how to play, in this case, forming one of the letters of the alphabet, for example: "T", "O", "C", "M", "L", "N" or "X", this way of playing involves a little more complexity than forming the traditional row of one of the letters of the word Bingo (however, by forming it you also win a prize). I believe that this way gives more excitement to the game and so the time passes with the goal of achieving the letter that has been indicated on the card.
 
Prizes are awarded when people sing bingo on a section of the card (forming a letter) or the full card.  The prizes are usually food items such as milk, rice, spaghetti, among others. The biggest prize of the whole event is the full cardboard and will depend on what they have been able to collect.

This activity is carried out with the purpose of raising funds to meet the needs of the church such as the purchase of lamps, fans, some repairs, among other aspects to be well used, always focused on the collective benefit and improve the conditions of this religious precinct.

I must also emphasize that this event takes place mainly on weekends, where the players are more unoccupied, most are of the female gender between young people and adults. I have noticed that many people attend these activities to collaborate with the different charities but also to distract themselves for a while and do something different from everyday life. It is important to find escape valves when reality is suffocating.

Los seres humanos vivimos de incertidumbres, vicisitudes, tristezas, de momento gratos y otras vivencias que tienen otras connotaciones. Entre tantos elementos del diario vivir para el disfrute de muchas personas se destacan los juegos de bingo, como se muestra en las fotografías. Es un evento realizado por la comunidad religiosa de la iglesia Santa Ana de Caigüire, de la ciudad de Cumaná, donde esa mencionada comunidad religiosa organiza todo este evento recorriendo las calles vendiendo los cartones y además utiliza las redes sociales para facilitar la adquisición de dichos cartones de parte de los vecinos que son las jugadores.

A diferencia de la lotería, acá los jugadores tienen cartones con números aleatorios escritos, cada fila está identificada con una letra de la palabra: "Bingo". Un locutor va sacando cada ficha y la anuncia en voz alta (por lo general con un micrófono para que todos puedas escuchar y evitar malos entendidos). La idea es ir tachando o anotando cada número, bien con piedras pequeñas, botones e incluso granos de caraotas, maíz o arvejas.

El juego en sí, se lleva a cabo en las inmediaciones de la iglesia mencionada. Este evento dura aproximadamente dos horas y media. La forma de ganar en el bingo la precisan las organizadoras que van desde ganar en grupos en el mismo cartón así como la salida total de la ficha de dicho cartón, llamado comúnmente cartón lleno. Y generalmente es la última actividad para finalizar dicho evento.

Antes de iniciar la mano, las organizadores indican cómo se va a jugar, en este caso, formando alguna de las letras del abecedario, por ejemplo: "T", "O", "C", "M", "L", "N" o "X", esta forma de jugar supone un poco más de complejidad que formar la tradicional fila de una de las letras de la palabra Bingo (sin embargo, por formarla también se gana un premio). Considero que de esta manera se le da más emoción al juego y así pasa el tiempo con el objetivo de lograr en el cartón la letra que se nos ha indicado.
 

Los premios se entregan cuando la gente canta bingo en una sección del cartón (formando una letra) o el cartón lleno.  Los premios generalmente son alimentos como leche, arroz, espagueti, entre otros. El premio mayor de todo el evento es el cartón lleno y dependerá de lo que hayan podido recolectar.

Esta actividad se realiza con el propósito de conseguir fondos para responder a las necesidades de la iglesia como la compra de lámparas, ventiladores, alguna que otra reparación, entre otros aspectos a que haya bien usarlos, siempre enfocado en el beneficio colectivo y en mejorar las condiciones de este recinto religioso.

También debo destacar que este evento se realiza sobre todo los fines de semana, donde los jugadores están más desocupados, la mayoría son del género femenino entre jóvenes y adultos. He notado que muchas personas asisten a estas actividades para colaborar con las diferentes obras benéficas pero también para distraerse un rato y hacer algo distinto de lo cotidiano. Es importante realizar buscar válvulas de escape cuando la realidad resulta asfixiante.
