|I was always wondering if it could be warm in a house made of snow. These huts are called the igloo, and the first to build them was the Eskimos, in the form of a dome with a diameter of 3-4 meters and a height of up to 2 meters, which lived there and heated their homes with fire. The internal temperature in the igloo thus rises and becomes suitable for comfortable living, the walls are some melted, but the structure does not melt generally, because of the snow which brings the excess heat outside the hut into the frost.|Мені завжди було цікаво чи справді в будиночку, зробленому зі снігу, може бути тепло. Такі хатинки називаються іглу і першими їх почали будувати ескімоси, у вигляді купола діаметром 3-4 метри і висотою до 2 метрів,  які там жили і обігрівали своє житло за допомогою вогню. Внутрішня температура в іглу таким чином підвищується і стає придатною для комфортного проживання, стіни оплавляються, але конструкція не тане, через сніг, який виводить зайве тепло назовні хатинки, в мороз. |

|So, a few years ago, when we had enough snow for such construction, I armed myself with the necessary tools and good mood, and started some experiment with a few friends. By tools, I meant snow shovels and a few plastic boxes that we used as molds for molding snow bricks. We shared responsibilities: someone made snow bricks, others made walls. The first row of bricks formed a circle of the largest diameter (we left room for entry). Next, we did each successive circle of bricks each time smaller in diameter, until the walls gradually turned to the ceiling. To make the top of the dome, several of us had to hold the blocks with our hands for a few minutes until they froze to each other. After that, the needle was almost ready, but there were very large crevices between the bricks, which we stuck with snow to keep warm. In the end, we surrounded the entrance to the snow bricks to protect it from the wind.|Отож, декілька років тому, коли в нас випадало достатньо снігу для такого будівництва, я озброївся необхідними інструментами та хорошим настроєм та з декількома друзями розпочав експеримент. Під інструментами я мав на увазі лопати для прибирання снігу та декілька пластикових ящиків, які ми використали в якості форм для формування снігових цеглинок. Ми розподілили обов’язки: хтось робив снігові цеглинки, інші ж мурували стіни. Перший ряд цеглинок сформував коло найбільшого діаметру (ми залишили місце для входу). Далі ми кожне наступне коло із цеглинок робили щоразу меншого діаметру, доки стіни поступово не перетворилися на стелю. Щоб зробити вершину купола, декільком з нас  довелося декілька хвилин тримати блоки руками, доки вони не примерзли один до одного. Після цього іглу було майже готове, але між цеглинами залишилися дуже великі щілини, які ми заліпили снігом, щоб втримати тепло. Наприкінці ми оточили сніговими цеглинками вхід, щоб захистити його від вітру. |

|Well, we can say that the experiment confirmed the well-known fact - in the middle of the igloo is really warmer. My friends and I did not light a fire there, but in the igloo was already a few degrees warmer than outside. And we got a great experience in building a igloo!|Ну що можна сказати, експеримент підтвердив загальновідомий факт – в середині іглу і справді тепліше. Ми з друзями не палили там вогню, але в іглу і без цього було на декілька градусів тепліше, ніж назовні. А ми отримали чудовий досвід з будівництва іглу!|
