|Hello, friends. It's May now—the last days of spring, the eve of summer. But here, it's cold and rainy. The city, instead of being green and sunny, has turned gray, colorless, and somehow faceless. People walk under umbrellas, dressed in jackets, hats, raincoats—everything to shield themselves from the rain. This clothing hides them, making everyone look like the same gray mass. There's a lack of color, a lack of joy. This mood mirrors the overall state in Ukraine. The war continues. Today, Russia launched yet another massive missile strike across many regions. Once again, innocent civilians have died, including children. These crimes are unforgivable. Against this backdrop, the U.S. government's reluctance to pressure Russia, to even call it a war criminal, while insisting on “doing business” with them, seems not just wrong—it’s grotesque. Words fail. We Ukrainians, in such rhetoric, are dehumanized. Like those people under umbrellas, we are ghosts. Easy to ignore. Easy to sacrifice. To throw into the jaws of the monstrous war machine called Russia. We are gray shadows. And it feels like no one needs us.|Привіт, друзі. Зараз травень, останні дні весни, переддень літа. Але у нас холодно й дощить. Місто, замість того щоб бути зеленим і сонячним, стало сірим, безбарвним, якимось знеособленим. Усі люди ходять під парасолями, вдягнені в куртки, шапки, капелюхи — в одяг, що захищає від дощу. Все це ніби ховає людей. Вони стають якоюсь однаковою, сірою масою. Бракує барв, бракує радості. Цей настрій перегукується з загальним станом в Україні. Триває війна. Сьогодні — черговий масований ракетний удар з боку Росії по багатьох областях. Знову загинули мирні мешканці, в тому числі діти. Цим злочинам немає прощення. На цьому тлі ще більш дико виглядає позиція влади США, яка не хоче тиснути на Росію, не наважується прямо назвати її воєнним злочинцем, воліючи "вести справи". Це просто дич. Не вистачає слів... Ми, українці, в такій риториці — знеособлені. Як і ті люди на вулицях під парасольками. Нас немає. Ми — привиди. Тому нас можна ігнорувати. Нас можна принести в жертву. Віддати Великому Молоху війни. Кинути на поталу страшному монстру на ім’я Росія... Ми — сірі тіні. І, здається, нікому не потрібні.|
