**Good morning, family of this community!**

I am going to share a recent experience, at the beginning of this month in my family, about the celebration of the tradition of the Three Wise Men. 

Those of us who were born in the 1980s in Cuba have no experience of these celebrations that we inherited from the time we were a colony of Spain. We simply talked about it only to say: "Do you remember when the Three Wise Men were celebrated? It was after the visit of Pope John Paul II in 1997 and his request to re-establish the customs of celebrating Christmas dates that the Christmas trees reappeared and even new traditions such as Father Christmas began to be inserted. 
These celebrations came a little late for me, as I was not exactly a child at that time. 
However, time has passed and I now have two children and a niece, both of whom love any festive atmosphere. 
The Three Wise Men are approaching and for quite some time now each of the members of my family has been collecting some money to buy toys for the children for this January 6th, as the current economic situation we are going through here is no secret to anyone. 
So we all managed to put our savings into this specific activity and the children got their presents on the night of the fifth of January.

>Quienes nacimos en la década del 80 en Cuba, no tenemos experiencia de estas celebraciones que heredamos desde que fuimos colonia de España. Simplemente de eso se hablaba solo para decir: "¿te acuerdas cuando se celebraba la fecha de los Reyes Magos?" Fue luego de la visita del papa Juan Pablo II en el año 1997 y pidió restablecer las costumbres de celebración de fechas navideñas que reaparecieron los arbolitos de Navidad e incluso se empezó a insertar nuevas tradiciones como la de Papá Noel. 
>Estas celebraciones me llegaron un poco tarde, pues ya no era precisamente una niña para esas fechas. 
>Sin embargo, el tiempo ha pasado y ya tengo dos hijos y una sobrina, a los cuales les encanta todo ambiente festivo. 
>Se acerca a la fecha de los Reyes Magos y ya desde hacía bastante tiempo cada uno de los miembros de mi familia venía reuniendo algún dinerito para aportar y comprar a los niños juguetes para este seis de enero, pues la actual situación económica que estamos atravesando acá no es secreto para nadie. 
>Así que entre todos logramos poner nuestros ahorros dedicados a esta actividad en específico y los niños tuvieron sus regalos en la noche del cinco de enero.

Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar arrived unseen by us and left hats with presents for the children at the foot of the Christmas tree.

>Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar llegaron sin ver vistos por nosotros y dejaron para los niños unos gorros con regalos al pie del árbol de Navidad.

This snapshot was the moment of the unveiling of the gift that the Three Wise Men had left them for their good behaviour.

>Esta instantánea fue el momento del descubrimiento del obsequio que les habían dejado los Reyes Magos por su buen comportamiento.

They checked the caps and each determined which one was theirs based on what they saw inside. 

>Revisaron los gorros ya cada cual determinó cuál era el suyo según lo que vieron en su interior.

They sat looking at their gifts as they pulled them out of their hats and showed us their rewards.

>Se sentaron a mirar sus regalos, mientras los sacaban de los gorros y nos mostraban sus recompensas.

Then they put on their hats and set out to play with their new toys - so much joy in such a small space! These tiny little bodies vibrated with their gifts. 

>Luego se colocaron los gorros y se dispusieron a jugar con sus nuevos juguetes. ¡Cuánta alegría en un espacio tan pequeño! Estos diminutos cuerpecitos vibraban con sus obsequios.

The three children shared this happiness together. 

>Compartieron esta felicidad los tres niños juntos.

The youngest embraced her toys as well. 

>La más pequeña abrazaba sus juguetes también. 

It was a very emotional evening. The family gathered together to participate in this beautiful activity, the fruit of a joint effort. 
The smiles of the children are the joy of our family and for them we will always try to do the impossible if necessary.
