Although the bolero is a slow and romantic rhythm, it has long been part of the repertoire of salsa singers. Most of the great salseros have performed some of them and usually with excellent results.

I have always been in love with this musical form and I am now in my salsa project, of course I can not leave out this rhythm. So I already have several boleros selected for my repertoire.

Although this one that I bring you today is not part of that repertoire, I can say that it is one of my favorite boleros. I really like its positive message and I find the melody beautiful. For these reasons it has been part of the repertoire that I have sung in night clubs for many years.

It is a composition by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter José Nogueras and the song was popularized by his extraordinary countryman, Cheo Feliciano. This is my entry for the Hive Open Mic, Week 42.

Aunque el bolero es un ritmo lento y romántico, desde hace mucho tiempo forma parte del repertorio de los cantantes de salsa. La mayoría de los grandes salseros han interpretado alguno y por lo general con excelentes resultados.

Yo que siempre he sido un enamorado de esta forma musical y que ando ahora en mi proyecto de salsa, por supuesto, no puedo dejar por fuera este ritmo. Así que ya tengo varios boleros seleccionados para mi repertorio.

Aunque este que les traigo hoy no forma parte de ese repertorio, sí puedo decir que es uno de mis boleros preferidos. Me gusta mucho su mensaje tan positivo y la melodía me parece bellísima. Por estas razones ha formado parte del repertorio que he cantado en los locales nocturnos durante muchos años.

Se trata de una composición del cantautor puertorriqueño José Nogueras y la canción fue popularizada por su extraordinario paisano, Cheo Feliciano. Esta es mi entrada para el Hive Open Mic, Semana 42.
