Mein letzter Beitrag zum Beersaturday ist schon einen Monat her und dort habe ich über einen Trip nach Holland am Tag der deutschen Einheit (03. Oktober) berichtet. 
Und da der November auch mit einem Feiertag beginnt (Allerheiligen), ist es ja naheliegend, das ich von einem Trip nach Holland berichte. Und dann mache ich das auch.

Am letzten Feiertag sind wir, also @sofort77 unserer Tochter und ich, gemeinsam  mit meiner Schwägerin und ihrem Lebensgefährten nach Plasmolen (Niederlande) gefahren.

Bereits vor längerem haben wir zusammen eine Wanderung unternommen und hatten immer wieder einmal vor, dieses zu wiederholen. Da aber von den 4 Erwachsenen 3 im Pflegebereich und im  Schichtdienst arbeiten ist es nahezu unmöglich hierfür einen gemeinsamen Termin zu finden.

Als meine Schwägerin dann an Halloween anrief und fragte ob wir spontan Lust hätten mitzukommen,  war es ein glücklicher Zufall, daß auch meine Frau an diesem Wochenende Urlaub hatte.

Also haben wir noch schnell ein paar Snacks und ein "Kaltgetränk" für das Picknick besorgt und sind dann bereits um kurz nach 10 Uhr morgens aufgebrochen.

On the last holiday we, that is @sofort77 our daughter and I, went together with my sister-in-law and her partner to Plasmolen (Netherlands).

Already a long time ago, we have done a hike together and had always intended to repeat this once. But since 3 of the 4 adults work in the care sector and in shifts, it is almost impossible to find a common date for this.

When my sister-in-law then called on Halloween and asked if we spontaneously wanted to come along, it was a happy coincidence that my wife also had time off that weekend.

So we quickly bought a few snacks and a "cold drink" for the picnic and then left shortly after 10 o'clock in the morning.

Am Wanderparkplatz angekommen ging es auch sofort los. Nach einem kurzen Stück über die Straße ging es direkt auf einen kleinen Waldpfad. Das Wetter war schön und mild und der Herbst zeigte sich hier von seiner schönsten Seite.

Nach einer halben Stunde durch den Wald veränderte sich die Umgebung und wir kamen in die "Mookerheide". Hier laufen auch ein paar Hochlandrinder frei herum bzw. dösen in der Sonne. Auch die Aussicht von hier oben ist für holländische verhältnisse schon fast ein alpines Erlebnis.
So reicht der Blick von hier bis zum Dom in Cuijk.

After half an hour through the forest the landscape changed and we came to the "Mookerheide". Here are also a few highland cattle running around freely or dozing in the sun. Also the view from up here is almost an alpine experience for Dutch conditions.
The view from here reaches as far as the cathedral in Cuijk.

Nachdem wir die Heide hinter uns gelassen hatten, ging es wieder durch ein kleines Waldstück. Anschließend durch ein kleines Wohngebiet und dann ging es weiter durch Wiesen und Felder. Der Weg führte uns jetzt nach "Klein Amerika".

Neben einem kleinen "Weinberg" steht hier auch das Modell eines WACO-Gliders. Hierbei handelt es sich um einen Lastensegler, der im zweiten Weltkrieg genau an dieser Stelle zum Einsatz kam, als die größte Luft-Lande-Operation ["Operation Market Garden"](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Market_Garden) durchgeführt wurde.
Bei dieser Operation wurden 1944 fast 40.000 Fallschirmjäger abgesetzt um gegen das Deutsche Reich zu kämpfen.

Entlang der Strecke gibt es dazu auch ein paar Informationen.

Danach ging es noch ein bisschen weiter durch die Felder und anschließend wieder zurück in den Wald. Hier machten wir dann auch ein Picknick und ich konnte mein "Kaltgetränk" hervorholen.

Auf Wanderungen ist Dosenbier manchmal die besere Wahl und somit habe ich mir dieses mal ein IPA vom Aldi mitgenommen. Ich hatte das bereits schon ein paar mal bei anderen gesehen und wollte das jetzt einmal selbst probieren.
Zur Brauerei gibt es keine näheren Angaben. Nur das es in Mönchengladbach gebraut wird. Das IPA ist mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 5,0 %Vol. noch eines von den leichteren. Gemäß Beschreibung hat es einen milden Geschmack mit blumiger Würze und voller Hopfennote.

On hikes, canned beer is sometimes the better choice and so I took me this time an IPA from Aldi. I had already seen this a few times at others and wanted to try it myself.
There is no further information about the brewery. Only that it is brewed in Mönchengladbach. The IPA is with an alcohol content of 5.0% vol. still one of the lighter. According to the description, it has a mild taste with floral spiciness and full hop notes.

Ein Glas habe ich nicht mitgenommen und somit fällt eine Bewertung von Farbe und Schaum heute aus. Das Design der Dose gefällt mir allerdings ganz gut.
Der Geschmack ist für ein IPA vom Discounter ganz Okay. Eine blumige Würze schmeckte ich zwar nicht, dafür aber eine fruchtige Note nach Zitrusfrüchten.

Den Abschluss unserer Wanderung machte der Besuch einer ehem. römischen [Villa](https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romeinse_villa_Plasmolen) Die Villa ist natürlich nicht mehr da, aber man hat ein paar der alten Sockelmauern sowie das Atrium als Metallgerüst errichtet, damit man eine Vorstellung von der Größe bekommt.

## Fazit

Die Wanderung mit insgesamt 12 Kilometern war sehr abwechslungsreich und hat allen viel Spaß gemacht. Sogar unserer 9-jährigen Tochter die Wanderungen sonst immer "langweilig" findet. Die Wanderung wollen wir im Frühjar, wenn alles blüht noch einmal machen.

Das India Pale Ale vom Aldi wird es bei mir sicherlich auch noch einmal geben. Bei mancher Gelegenheit machen Bierdosen einfach Sinn und geschmacklich ist es ein solides Bier.

The hike with a total of 12 kilometers was very varied and everyone had a lot of fun. Even our 9-year-old daughter who usually finds hikes "boring". We want to do the hike again in the spring, when everything is in bloom.
