This HARDFORK coming up is exciting to some, while it is scary to others, and just some weird CRYPTOCURRENCY THING to most people that does not give a shit...  There is a reason for that, but it is certainly a significant event to us here on steemit.  What happens on August the 1st will impact the steem price in our steemit wallets here.  But there seems to be less and less to worry about for now.  Read on and find out why ;)

As mentioned in the title Slushpool and a other majot mining pools like Bixin are nor going to support this alternative token that may come into existence called [Bitcoin Cash](https://cointelegraph.com/news/kraken-on-bitcoin-cash-prepare-for-extreme-volatility) that was initially created by [Bitcoin](https://cointelegraph.com/tags/bitmain).  This HARDFORK is developed by mining pools lead by [ViaBTC](https://cointelegraph.com/tags/viabtc).  It endeavours to mine 8MB clocks which are 8 times larger than Bitcoin.  With size block size being its main advantage ;)

Bitmain only created Bitcoin Cash as a contingency plan in case the proposed [BIP 148](https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj1zsqegrHVAhXEnJQKHc2yCaAQFggoMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fbitcoinmagazine.com%2Farticles%2Fbitcoin-beginners-guide-surviving-bip-148-uasf%2F&usg=AFQjCNEykw0HKjuSwnTPNhMotDAOUxYvHA) was activated.

Bitmain has terminated ideas of activating Bitcoin Cash since Bip 148 has been avoided.    The mining community, businesses, users, investors, and traders all agree to activate the original [Segwit](https://cointelegraph.com/explained/segwit-explained) proposal.

Why are the leading mining pools not supporting the August 1st ViaBTC and Bitcoin Cash?  Well it is due to the main driving forces of Segwit activation.  The [BIP 141 user activated SOFT FORK (USAF) and Segwit 2X](http://itsblockchain.com/2017/06/18/bip-148-and-segwit2x-explained-major-change-to-come-in-bitcoin/),  proposal introduced by a Digital Currency group lead by 86 companies.   Bitmain, ViaBTC and the majority of the mining community agreed to Segwit 2X, and activate Segwit to increase the Bitcoin block size to 2MB.  This way Bitcoins stay as Bitcoin but will be more capable to handle the demand volume that the original creators of Bitcoin never anticipated.  Yet they still pursued the execution of a Hard Fork in Bitcoin Cash.  But some major minors have already rejected this.

[Cointelegraph](https://cointelegraph.com/) emphasized that the August 1st Hard Fork will have [minimal impact of the bitcoin network ](https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-investors-should-not-fear-august-1-chain-split) because the majority of the whole cryptocurrency industry sees Botcoin cash as only an alternative, and not Bitcoin in cryptocurrencies.  

On the 28th of July, [Coinbase](https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiFiNnFi7HVAhWEFJQKHeQSCTQQFgg_MAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.coinbase.com%2F%3Flocale%3Den&usg=AFQjCNGy6gw_70KCJ4kjaL7sCB1ri1yTwQ) the largest Bitcoin wallet operator and major Bitcoin Exchange operator accounced that it will not interact with the Bitcoin Cash block chain.

So in summary, there will be minimal impact, and things will stay very much the same as they are, and prepare to be kicked in the face by a BULL RUN for Bitcoin as investors buy back in, and new investors surge in.  And in doing so prepare for your steem wallets to be stretched ;)
