Corría el año 2020, las calles estaban desiertas, el miedo dominaba todo nuestro entorno y la guerra contra el enemigo invisible se estaba librando con mucha intensidad, los hospitales estaban abarrotados, las morgues sucumbían ante la cantidad de cuerpos sin vida y las calles poco a poco se convertían en escenarios horribles que demostraban la debilidad humana ante los embates de la misma naturaleza. Los medios de comunicación se convirtieron en trasmisores de angustias, tristezas y desaliento, parecía que el final del mundo conocido estaba cerca, desde Brasil, Estados Unidos, Ecuador, Italia e Irán vimos como los gobiernos se tambaleaban, mientras que los pueblos caían de rodillas ante un vendaval de adversidades que resultaban en un resultado fatal.
Muchos pensamos que nunca llegaría la cura, que las vacunas tardarían años y que el resto de nuestra existencia estaría marcado por un confinamiento que puso a prueba nuestras capacidades de convivencia y resistencia, la depresión embargo muchos corazones y se cobro muchas vidas. En este país en donde la crisis económica era evidente las expectativas eran fatalistas y el miedo era generalizado, por lo tanto las medidas de protección de llevaron a cabo de forma individual y colectiva, las oraciones, las plegarias y suplicas unieron a un pueblo que parecía distante entre si y ayudaron a enfrentar juntos a este demonio.
La Vida nos cobró una jugada increíble, ya que una situación como esta no se había visto nunca, la angustia que aguardaba en nuestros corazones era increíblemente fuerte y a medida que pasaban los meses todo parecía empeorar. Pero poco a poco la ciencia comenzaba a hacer su trabajo, las investigaciones parecía que avanzaban de forma muy rápida y la esperanza comenzaba a asomarse como un amanecer que busca romper con la profundidad de la noche, desde Venezuela éramos simples espectadores de todo ese acontecimiento, pero todos sabíamos que esta carrera por las vacunas beneficiaria en primera instancia a los países ricos y luego teníamos muy presente que las sanciones y el bloqueo prácticamente limitaría nuestras opciones y nos alejaría de los fármacos occidentales, por esa razón existía un sentimiento de afinidad y cierto optimismo en los estudios derrochados desde la Federación de Rusia o La República Popular de China.
Por eso cuando en agosto del año 2020 los medios indicaban que el ente regulador ruso aprobaba la vacuna Sputnik V desarrollada por el Instituto Gamaleya se sintió una gran alegría, pero al mismo tiempo un poco de temor, pero era la opción que seguramente íbamos a tener disponibles. Poco a poco las cosas comenzaron a fluir, las restricciones se comenzaron a levantar y un gran sentimiento de libertad surgió, pero al mismo tiempo el libertinaje se apodero de muchos sectores de la sociedad que buscaban salir a recobrar el tiempo perdido y disfrutar de una vida llena placer, alegría y diversión.
De un momento a otro dejamos de ser espectadores y vimos como los aviones comenzaron a aterrizar con miles de vacunas rusas y chinas, los centros de vacunación empezaron a abrir sus puertas y las filas eran muy largas, en cuestión de meses la población comenzaba a ser protegida y la nueva normalidad comenzaba a apoderarse del país. Aun no declaramos la victoria ante el enemigo silencioso, pero si estamos cada vez mas seguros de que pronto esto será solo un mal recuerdo, pero el cual esta lleno de muchos aprendizajes, recuerdos y experiencias de vida.

It was the year 2020, the streets were deserted, fear dominated our entire environment and the war against the invisible enemy was being waged with great intensity, the hospitals were overcrowded, the morgues succumbed to the number of lifeless bodies and the streets little by little. Little did they become horrible scenarios that demonstrated human weakness in the face of the attacks of nature itself. The media became transmitters of anguish, sadness and discouragement, it seemed that the end of the known world was near, from Brazil, the United States, Ecuador, Italy and Iran we saw how governments were reeling, while the people fell to their knees before a gale of adversity that resulted in a fatal outcome.
Many of us thought that the cure would never come, that the vaccines would take years and that the rest of our existence would be marked by a confinement that tested our capacities for coexistence and resistance, depression seized many hearts and claimed many lives. In this country where the economic crisis was evident, expectations were fatalistic and fear was widespread, therefore protection measures were carried out individually and collectively, prayers, prayers and pleas united a people who seemed distant from each other and helped to face this demon together.
Life took an incredible move from us, since a situation like this had never been seen before, the anguish that awaited in our hearts was incredibly strong and as the months passed, everything seemed to get worse. But little by little science began to do its job, the investigations seemed to be advancing very quickly and hope began to appear like a dawn that seeks to break with the depth of the night, from Venezuela we were simple spectators of all this event, but we all knew that this race for vaccines would benefit the rich countries in the first instance and then we were very aware that the sanctions and the blockade would practically limit our options and take us away from western drugs, for that reason there was a feeling of affinity and certain optimism in the studies wasted from the Russian Federation or the People's Republic of China.
For this reason, when in August 2020 the media indicated that the Russian regulatory body approved the Sputnik V vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Institute, there was great joy, but at the same time a little fear, but it was the option that we were surely going to have. available. Little by little things began to flow, the restrictions began to be lifted and a great feeling of freedom arose, but at the same time debauchery took hold of many sectors of society that sought to go out to recover lost time and enjoy a life fills pleasure, joy and fun.
From one moment to the next we stopped being spectators and we saw how the planes began to land with thousands of Russian and Chinese vaccines, the vaccination centers began to open their doors and the lines were very long, in a matter of months the population began to be protected and the new normality began to take over the country. We have not yet declared victory over the silent enemy, but we are increasingly sure that soon this will be just a bad memory, but which is full of many lessons, memories and life experiences.
