<div class="text-justify">I am Venezuelan and about 20 years ago (before the crisis) culturally in my country, it was customary to travel on vacation to one of the most beautiful Andean states that Venezuela has, MERIDA, and in 2010 my family and I planned such a trip.

With much effort and saving money, finally the day arrived, I remember the first thing I did was to pack a small bag because in MERIDA was very cold, I was very happy, as we had no private car at that time we went in a bus, I could not believe it, the last time I traveled to Merida was very small and for me it was necessary to relive those moments.
<br>
<br>
The big day arrived, we started our wonderful trip to the state of Merida, to make our trip more enjoyable the driver played songs allegorical to the Andean states, better known as Andean merengue, it is a very cheerful type of music.
<br>
<br>
Between sleeping, eating, appreciating the scenery, going back to sleep, after at least 12 hours of travel, we finally arrived in Merida.

We arrived at a beautiful house where we would stay, we felt a very fresh air and at the bottom of that small cabin, we could hear a kind of waterfall, which undoubtedly welcomed us to this magical place.

After a few hours, at night we decided to take a walk, we decided to go to the famous ice cream parlor Coromoto, this is characterized by having unusual flavors of ice cream, in this place you will find ice cream flavors like shrimp, cheese, corn, among many other very striking and extravagant, apart from this curious fact. 
<br>
<br>Also has a Guinness Record with more than 860 flavors of ice cream, it was very entertaining, I ordered a combination of two flavors and the ice cream was really delicious, then we decided to go home to rest to recover from that incredible but exhausting day.

The next day marveled with the weather, our destination was the chorros de milla, it is a place full of nature, it stands out for its beautiful waterfalls, just listening to the water falling, was one of my favorite sounds, we could not let the moment pass and quickly took out our camera to capture the moment.

Each moment was unique, the place reminded you of the beautiful things we have and sometimes we don't appreciate, like the simple fact of enjoying the goodness of nature.

After there, we went to a river, I think my happiness speaks for itself in the photos, they call it the chama river, it is formidable, I was very cold, but I could not stop admiring such a majestic landscape, I remember that my mom and my sister did not stop being impressed with the beauty of this mighty river and between photos, laughing, and walking we spent the time.
<br>
<br> But what I enjoyed the most of this part of the trip, besides the scenery, was my mom's smile, just seeing her happy, was the best gift that the Chama River left us.

We could not end our day without visiting the monument to the snowy dog, named in honor of the dog that accompanied Simon Bolivar in some of his battles, especially the battle of Carabobo. In the place we found a beautiful dog of the same breed, named Pablo, who was undoubtedly the main protagonist of the place.
<br>
<br>
Pablo together with his keeper, took all the looks and taking a picture with them was the most beautiful gift of the place, among my thoughts, was always that this great dog knew that he gave magic to the monument.

<br>Our trip could not have been more perfect, the next morning we got up and went to Pico del Aguila, it was getting colder and colder, but the place reminded us how majestic it was and undoubtedly the imposing landscape made any moment feel warm, the more I climbed, I did not understand very well what it was about, until I began to feel very bad, I was dizzy and felt like vomiting, I tried to ignore what was happening to me until I finally had to go to the bathroom to vomit, fortunately once I vomited and began to descend my symptoms were decreasing.<br>

Before ending our day in Merida we could enjoy the stone chapel, it is a beautiful place full of traditions, culture, people with pink cheeks, reminding you that I am definitely in the Andean mountain ranges of Venezuela.
<br>

Outside the chapel we found several merchants selling handicrafts, typical sweets of the region, you just want to take everything, put in a bag a little piece of the state of Merida.

The lagoon of mucubají, is a place that filled me with emotion, its landscape makes you imagine a thousand stories, the serenity of the lagoon invites you to close your eyes and feel something inexplicable about the place, which undoubtedly reminds you that nature has the most beautiful landscapes that exist on earth and that you have to love and respect it.
<br>
<br>
To close my trip to this land of dreams, we visited the monument to the crazy Luz Caraballo, it is said that Luz Caraballo is the legend of a woman who suffered a lot for the loss of her 5 children and this was what condemned her to a life full of melancholy and pain that today are reflected in this statue that sealed with a flourish my magical trip to MERIDA.

<div class="text-justify"> soy venezolana y apróximamente hace unos 20 años atrás (antes de la crisis) culturalmente en mi país, se tenía la costumbre de viajar en vacaciones para una de los estados andinos más lindos que tiene Venezuela, MÉRIDA, y en el 2010 mi familia y yo planificamos dicho viaje.

Con mucho esfuerzo y ahorrando dinero, finalmente llego el día, recuerdo que lo primero que hice fue empacar una cacheta porque en MERIDA hacia mucho frio, estaba muy feliz, como no teníamos carro particular en esa época nos fuimos en un autobús, no lo podía creer, la última vez que viajé a Mérida estaba muy pequeña y para mí era necesario revivir esos momentos.

El gran día llego, comenzamos nuestro maravilloso viaje hacia el estado Mérida, para hacer nuestro viaje más ameno el conductor colocaba canciones alegóricas a los estados andinos, mejor conocidos como merengue andino, es una especie de música parrandera muy alegre.
<br>

Entre dormir, comer, apreciar el paisaje, dormir nuevamente, después de al menos 12 horas de viaje, finalmente llegamos a Mérida.

Llegamos a una hermosa casa donde nos hospedaríamos, se sentía un aire muy fresco y en la parte de atrás de esa pequeña cabaña, se escuchaba como una especie de cascada, que sin lugar a duda nos daba la bienvenida a ese mágico lugar

Después de unas horas, en la noche decidimos dar un paseo, optamos por ir a la famosa heladería Coromoto, esta se caracteriza por tener sabores inusuales de helado, en este lugar encontrarás sabores como camarón, queso, maíz, entre muchos otros muy llamativos y extravagantes, aparte de este curioso hecho.

También tiene un Récord Guinness con más de 860 sabores de helado, fue muy entretenido, pedí una combinación de dos sabores y el helado estaba realmente delicioso, luego decidimos ir a casa a descansar para recuperarnos de ese increíble pero agotador día.

Al siguiente día maravillados con el clima, nuestro destino eran los chorros de milla, es un lugar lleno de naturaleza, destaca por sus hermosas cascadas, simplemente escuchar el agua caer, era uno de mis sonidos favoritos, no podíamos dejar pasar el momento y rápidamente sacamos nuestra cámara para capturar el momento.

Cada momento era único, el lugar te hacia recordar las cosas hermosas que tenemos y a veces no apreciamos, como el simple hecho de disfrutar de las bondades de la naturaleza.

Después de allí, nos fuimos a un rio, creo que mi felicidad habla por sí sola en las fotos, le llaman el rio chama, es formidable, tenía mucho frio, pero no podía dejar de admirar tan majestuoso paisaje, recuerdo que mi mama y mi hermana no paraban de impresionarse con lo bello de este caudaloso rio y entre fotos, reír, y caminar se nos pasó el tiempo.

Pero lo que más disfrute de esta parte del viaje además de su paisaje fue la sonrisa de mi mama, simplemente verla feliz, fue el mejor regalo que nos dejó el Rio chama.

No podíamos culminar nuestro día sin conocer el monumento al perro nevado, se le atribuye su nombre en honor al perro que acompañaba a Simón Bolívar en algunas de sus batallas en especial la batalla de Carabobo, de raza mucuchíes. En el lugar nos encontramos con un perro hermoso de esa misma raza, llamado Pablo que sin duda era el gran protagonista de ese lugar.

Pablo junto con su cuidador, se llevaban todas las miradas y tomarse unas fotos con ellos era el regalo más bonito del lugar, entre mis pensamientos, estuvo siempre que este gran perro sabía que le daba magia al monumento.

Nuestro viaje no podía ser más perfecto, a la mañana siguiente nos despertamos y nos fuimos al pico el águila, cada vez hacia más y más frio, pero el lugar nos recordaba lo majestuoso que era y sin lugar a duda lo imponente del lugar y su paisaje hacia cálido cualquier momento, mientras más subía, escuchaba algunas personas alertando sobre el mal de paramo, no entendía muy bien de que se trataba, hasta que empecé a sentirme muy mal, estaba mareada y quería vomitar, estaba tratando de ignorar lo que me sucedía hasta que finalmente tuve que ir al baño a vomitar, afortunadamente una vez que vomite y comencé a descender mis síntomas se fueron aminorando.

Antes de terminar nuestro día en Mérida pudimos disfrutar de la capilla de piedra, es un lugar precioso lleno de tradiciones, de cultura, de gente con las mejillas rosadas, que te recuerdan que definitivamente estoy en las cordilleras andinas de Venezuela. 
<br>

A las afueras de la capilla nos encontramos con diversos comerciantes que vendían, artesanía, dulces típicos de la región, simplemente quieres llevarte todo, meter en una bolsita un pedacito del estado Mérida.

La laguna de mucubají, es un lugar que me lleno mucho de emoción, su paisaje te hace imaginar mil historias, la serenidad de la laguna te invita a cerrar los ojos y sentir algo inexplicable del lugar, que sin duda te hace recordar que la naturaleza tiene los paisajes más hermosos que existen en la tierra y que hay que amarla y respetarla.

Para cerrar mi viaje a esta tierra de ensueño, visitamos el monumento a la loca Luz Caraballo, se dice que Luz Caraballo es la leyenda de una mujer que sufrió mucho por la pérdida de sus 5 hijos y esto fue lo que la condenó a una vida llena de melancolía y dolor que hoy se reflejan en esta estatua que selló con broche de oro mi mágico viaje a MÉRIDA.
