For a long time, I observed this image, its play of tones, and what I felt was peace. A rare nostalgia. The longing for the fields I visited in my childhood, with no limits on the horizon. With tiny little feet lost inside transparent rubber boots, as I jumped from puddle to puddle. I was only prevented from playing in the rain if it thundered very close and very loud. But as long as the rain remained gentle, soothing the rooftops of the house, I could be a dancer beneath its cold drops. Perhaps that’s why storm clouds don’t scare me. Since I was little, I have always liked gray days. 

There is an almost romantic mystery in the murky infinity of dark clouds. Like a visible promise of rain that will fall at any moment. First, you feel the breeze with the scent of wet earth; it doesn’t matter if it’s not raining near you, the wind blows and carries the unmistakable aroma to you. And when you realize it, it’s because the curtain of water is already coming, perfect and unstoppable, and you find yourself raising your finger and pointing into the distance:  

—Look, over there in the distance, you can already see the rain falling.  

I wonder what @lanzjoseg felt while stealing a fragment of beauty from eternity. I imagine him confident, steady, capturing the advance of the storm, turning nature's humid sigh into art.  

It’s incredible how a photograph can make us feel a physical reflection on our skin. By observing it for a long time, you can feel the cold moving softly beneath the blanket of clouds, right between its dark gray tones and the greenery of the plants. Definitely, no matter how old I am, I will always feel peace and nostalgia on days like this one, like the one captured in the photograph.

Por largo rato observé esta imagen, su juego de tonalidades y lo que sentí fue paz. Una rara nostalgia. La añoranza de los campos que visitaba en mi niñez, sin límites en el horizonte. Con pies diminutos perdidos dentro de botas de goma transparente, mientras saltaba de charco en charco. Sólo me impedían jugar en la lluvia si tronaba muy cerca y muy fuerte. Pero mientras se mantenía serena la lluvia, arrullando los tejados de la casa, podía ser bailarina bajo sus gotas frías. Quizás por eso no me asustan los nubarrones. Pues, desde pequeña, siempre me han gustado los días grises. 

Hay un misterio casi romántico en el turbio infinito de las nubes oscuras. Como una promesa visible de la lluvia que caerá en cualquier instante. Primero te llega la brisa con olor a tierra mojada, no importa que cerca de ti aun no llueva, el viento sopla y arrastra el aroma inconfundible hacia ti. Y cuando logras darte cuenta, es porque ya viene la cortina de agua, perfecta e imparable y te descubres levantando el dedo y señalando a la lejanía:

—Miren, allá a los lejos, ya se ve caer la lluvia.

Me preguntó qué sintió @lanzjoseg mientras le robaba a lo eterno un fragmento de belleza. Lo imagino seguro, firme, capturando el avance de la tempestad, convirtiendo en arte el suspiro húmedo de la naturaleza.

Es increíble como una fotografía, puede hacernos sentir un reflejo físico en la piel. Al observarla por largo tiempo, pude sentir el frío que se mueve suave por debajo del manto de nubes, justo entre sus tonos de gris oscuro y el verdor de las plantas. Definitivamente, no importa la edad que tenga, siempre voy a sentir paz y nostalgia en días así, como el que quedó atrapado en la fotografía.
