Good day everyone and splinterlands community, As part of the <a href="https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/splinterlands-community-engagement-challenge-battlefield-breakthroughs">Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Battlefield Breakthroughs</a>, a challenge focused around sharing the most exciting, unexpected, or satisfying battle moments, I'll be sharing another interesting battle in the Modern Format today. I'll discuss a particularly intriguing match in this blog post where I applied the Equal Opportunity rules to the use of Akane Summoner and Nimbledook Explorer. I'll describe how I used these cards strategically, why they were necessary for this particular set of rules, and the reasoning behind my unit selections in order to maximise the effectiveness and guarantee victory.


<h1>Why I like about Akane and Nimbledook Explorer</h1>

Akane's Ambush ability is one of the main reasons why I prefer it as a summoner; it gives my team the tactical advantage of striking first before the round even starts.

This summoner is even more useful because I can strategically assign Ambush to my highest damage units for maximum effect because I can see the opponent's lineup during the selection phase. 

Although Ambush is a feature of other units as well, for my playstyle and strategy, the summoner's ability offers the most dependable and consistent competitive advantage.

The Nimbledook Explorer, on one side, gives me the competitive advantage to use specific rules like Equal Opportunity, which allows this unit to attack in any position you choose and because armour is its best support and healing material.

Only Life and Dragon elements were active in this battle, and the rule sets were Equal Opportunity, Stampede, and Armoured Up with a 20 mana cap. In order to stay within the limited mana in this situation, I chose to deploy smaller units. 

In order to fully utilise Akane's Ambush ability under the Equal Opportunity rule set, I made the calculated decision to use her in conjunction with Life. Akane and Chuul Jujinchi were my only max-level summoners, though I could have selected another one. In the end, I chose Akane because of its powerful skills rather than Chuul Jujinchi, who has no special abilities for this match, even though it only costs three mana.

In order to best utilise their effectiveness, I strategically placed **Halfling Refugee** as my frontline tank, **Skyspire Yak** as a melee attacker and secondary tank, **Ujurak Elder** to provide support, **Nimbledook Explorer** as my main damage dealer, perfectly suited for the Equal Opportunity and Armoured Up rule sets and **Caravan Guard** in the backline to provide healing support. 


Opponents' lineup included **Halfling Refugee**, **Nimbledook Explorer**, **Moxian Rebel**, **Albahoo Forester**, **Frigid Wolf**, and **Ujurak Elder**, all of which were positioned to reflect a well-rounded strategy across tanks, damage dealers, and support units.

<h1><center>Strategy Analysis</center></h1>

My strategy of units was simple: I decided to give **Ambush** from the **Akane** summoner to **Nimbledook Explorer** and **Halfling Refugee**. Since my Halfling Refugee's **Weary** ability sometimes backfires due to its random activation, the plan was to target and eliminate the opponent's frontline first. Giving it Ambush ensured that it could hit the opponent's Halfling Refugee with effectiveness. Ambush was also assigned to Nimbledook Explorer because of its strong damage output, which is further enhanced by the **Armoured Up** rule set. **Armoured Strike** converts its 8 armour into 8 additional damage, making it a dependable unit for early aggression.

The opponent chose to provide their Nimbledook Explorer with **Heal** from **Avina of the Wolf**. Strategically, this makes sense because their second-position Nimbledook acts as a backup tank, and the heal makes sure it can withstand my attacks for a longer period of time. The disparity in level and the strategic use of armoured damage and ambush gave me a competitive advantage in the fight, even though I was marginally outnumbered in terms of units. All things considered, the matchup demonstrated how summoner skills, rule set synergies, and positioning may greatly impact how a Frontier Format battle proceeds.


<h1><center>Live Battle Review: Who will Win</center></h1>

Not surprisingly, Frigid Wolf was swiftly dispatched in the opening round after the opponent's Moxian Rebel. Early in the fight, I had a definite advantage due to the damage differential and level advantage of my units.

My Skyspire Yak, which I hadn't completely understood before, was another noteworthy addition. It deals 8 damage, which is made up of 2 melee attacks and 6 armour damage. This complemented my Nimbledook Explorer's output, enhancing my offensive capability and all but ensuring victory in this battle.

Triage from Caravan Guard allowed my team to continuously heal each round, making it difficult for the opponent's Nimbledook Explorer to deal significant damage or destroy any of my units.

All things considered, the match went easily and was satisfying, showing how a winning strategy and advantageous rule sets can guarantee a resounding victory.
