This week's #weekend-engagement all revolves around the concept of time. I had a variety of options to choose from. The first two options - What *Age* would you be if you could, and *Stop Time* as in stay in a single moment did not seem like points that that I wanted to have. Similarly *Fast forward time* came with the same problem.

The problem is that we all need to live out our human experience as we get it. We cannot be trapped in stasis forever. We cannot choose to control time and experience life as we should with such an ability.

We cannot appreciate the highs if we do not experience the lows. This group is literally CALLED *The Weekend* group right? Why is a weekend significant? It is because we worked during the week and we now have time off for ourselves. Our society has built a system of work and rest.

Similarly with other things in our life. How precious is something when you get it without any work involved? Do you appreciate the accolades of a mobile game that rewards you for 5mins of play? Is it worth talking about even? Nope. That is because there was no effort expended in the achievement. I cannot even call it an achievement.

*Slow time*... now there I would like to rest my choice. There ARE times that we get to, times with family, times while resting, times while playing, times while making love, times where joy and experiences are true that High and we want to be able to hold on to those moments for as long as possible.

You get to those points and you feel: "This is why I am alive."

Live in those moments and "breathe deep", appreciate them, and do not take them for granted. But ultimately... you have to let them go and move on. I have experienced MANY things in my nearly 36 years of life. To my kid's generation that is a long time and to older people, they will say that I am still very young.

It is a matter of perspective. Thus, you should be looking forward to the NEXT experience. If you watch your favorite movie over and over, it will not be your favorite. If you eat the same food over and over, you won't like it anymore. You need variety and that is part of the human experience!

There is a counterpoint to having *Fast time*. Again, I do not believe in trading even one breath in my existence for the ability to fast forward. If life is hard, if it is difficult to wait for something to happen and you have to *exist* during the time it takes you to get to another point in life that you enjoy - then you need to restructure your thoughts.

Every moment you have is a moment for you to experience life. Take a breath, think a thought. My optimism says that the moment I wake up on Monday morning and get dressed, a part of the workweek is complete. When I arrive at work on Monday, another point is crossed off. By the time it is lunchtime on Monday, the worst part of the week is done because the longest time before the Weekend is over and now it gets shorter and shorter.

So my final feeling is that we need time to flow. Cherish each moment and cherish the good ones even more!
