I was rummaging through my Facebook photo album and I found my old photography album which I had not touched since about 10 years ago. I remember that I've gotten my first DSLR camera, a canon d500, when I first entered university and because it was required to have one for the photography classes that came with my animation course.

This photo reminded me of how passionate I was back then and always ready to brace the world. To start something or to be part of something great. 'Something great' in my terms meant that people around the world would enjoy my produce, a produce of the visual arts industry, animation.

4 years down the road, I started my first career where I made commercials for brands. I created content for exhibitions and huge events, one which I didn't expect to be doing. I thought then, that I've wasted my life that 2 years in the company which I didn't know where I was going. 6 years down the line to present day, I feel as though I'm in that same very position in life.

I had an interview awhile back with an International company doing one of the best RPG games in the world. The HR first approached me and said that my profile fitted everything they needed. I thought I'd give it a go to see where it led me and also I was going to be new to the games industry. My knowledge for 3D animation is strong but in games, it's a little bit different, nothing hard work and a few days to learn can't work.

Long story short, after 7 interviews and about 2 months into it, I was rejected because the HR said the main reason wasn't my skills but the interviewers didn't like my answers to their questions, which was odd. I'd be honest if I told you that didn't hurt. Everything seemed so well in the interviews but they suddenly throw a curve ball at you saying that you've not answered the questions well. *What else could I have said?* All I knew was that when I answered, I was the most genuine and truthful.

Sometimes life is beautiful yet brutal and can't be reduce to the hustling formula because I knew damn well that when I got the job, I would always put in the extra hours to catch up on whatever knowledge I was lacking. 

This whole hustling and getting rejected from a job reminded me of why I'm doing life again. I know there's a verse in the bible saying that everything we do (work), do it as an act of worship unto God.

I will be continuing to be where I am today carrying this mindset along with me, working not just for the job but my life and being openhanded about it. I guess to put it as simply, 'my work is my worship unto God'.
