Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un paseo que hice para la iglesia el buen jesus o también llamada Bom Jesus do Monte . Es sorprendente e impressionante cuando llegas a ese sitio porque no te haces ideas de lo que te espera adentro.😳

Today I want to share with you a walk that I did for the good jesus church or also called Bom Jesus do Monte. It's surprising and impressive when you get to that place because you don't have any ideas of what awaits you inside.

Esta iglesia se encuentra ubicada en Braga en la localidad de Tesões.
Portugal,creada en el año de 1772 y declarada el 7 de Julio del año pasado por la UNESCO Patrimonio Mundial de la humanidad.😮
Las escaleras que conducen hasta la iglesia, situada en la parte superior del conjunto, no son solo un medio para alcanzar el santuario: también tienen su propio simbolismo, de modo que evocan el Via Crucis con capillas que representan, mediante esculturas, distintas escenas de la Pasión de Cristo.

This church is located in Braga in the town of Tesões. Portugal,created in 1772 and declared on July 7 of last year by UNESCO World Heritage of humanity.😮
The stairs that lead to the church, located in the upper part of the complex, are not only a means to reach the sanctuary: they also have their own symbolism, so that they evoke the Via Crucis with chapels that represent, through sculptures, different scenes of passion of Christ

En el siguiente de los tramos de las escaleras encontrarás una fuente; cinco en total: cada una de ellas representa uno de los cinco sentidos, y no es casual.

On the next flight of stairs you will find a fountain; five in total: each one of them represents one of the five senses, and it is no accident.

Los cinco sentidos simbolizan lo terrenal, y la idea era que los devotos que ascendiesen hasta la iglesia fueran dejando atrás ese plano material hasta alcanzar el templo, es decir, el plano espiritual. Curioso, ¿no?

The five senses symbolize the earthly, and the idea was that the devotees who ascended to the church would leave that material plane behind until they reached the temple, that is, the spiritual plane. Curious, right?

El último tramo de escaleras está consagrado a la Caridad, la Fe y la Esperanza, representadas también por una fuente (las fuentes están relacionadas con la purificación antes de llegar al Templo de Dios, es decir, a la iglesia).

The last flight of stairs is dedicated to Charity, Faith and Hope, also represented by a fountain (the fountains are related to purification before reaching the Temple of God, that is, the church).

Está claro que contemplar una ciudad desde las alturas es la mejor forma de obtener una buena panorámica de la misma.

How many stairs does the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte have? Many, many. Almost 600 steps.

No obstante, la subida es cómoda porque las escaleras son amplias y al hacer zigzag, te puedes ir parando si lo necesitas y quieres disfrutar de las diferentes vistas o mirar con detalle sus fuentes.

However, the climb is comfortable because the stairs are wide and when you zigzag, you can stop if you need to and want to enjoy the different views or look at its fountains in detail.
</div>

Se puede llegar en coche hasta la parte superior; no suele haber dificultad para aparcar en Bom Jesus do Monte, pues hay un parking gratis. En temporada alta mejor madrugar.
También puedes utilizar el ascensor que hay disponible si estás en la parte de abajo, conocido como Elevador do Bom Jesus, que conecta la ciudad de Braga con Bom Jesus do Monte desde nada menos que el siglo XIX.

You can drive to the top; There is usually no difficulty in parking at Bom Jesus do Monte, as there is free parking. In high season it is better to get up early.
You can also use the elevator that is available if you are at the bottom, known as Elevador do Bom Jesus, which has connected the city of Braga with Bom Jesus do Monte since nothing less than the 19th century.

El elevador do Bom Jesus do Monte supuso toda una revolución en el campo de la ingeniería de la época, pues funcionaba mediante un sistema hidráulico y fue el primer elevador de este tipo de la Península Ibérica.

Upstairs you will find a cafeteria where you can take a break and contemplate the impressive views. It is also worth taking a walk through the surrounding gardens, which even have a grotto and a small lagoon
On January 30, 2018, I delivered the UNESCO World Heritage Center to the candidacy of the “Santuário do Bom Jesus do Monte em Braga” to the World Heritage List.

En el recorrido podrás ir viendo cada estación del vía cruz después de subir varios escalones te consigues con una fuente y una capilla pequeña donde está representada cada estación simbólica con esculturas hechas en yeso de un tamaño de una persona normal. Te muestro algunas de las estaciones.

On the way you will be able to see each station of the via cruz after climbing several steps you will find a fountain and a small chapel where each symbolic station is represented with plaster sculptures of the size of a normal person. I show you some of the stations.
