# Hola mis amores

Ser venezolana es una de las bendiciones de mi vida, y aunque soy de las que sueña la utopía que algún dia no hayan fronteras en el planeta tierra, mientras las hay, estar dentro de las de Venezuela ha sido una experiencia extraordinaria a lo largo de mi vida.

He viajado por muchos estados de mi país y también he vivido en unos cuantos, por esta razón siento que he podido disfrutar de muchos lugares, tradiciones y tambien comidas muy particulares. En el caso de los alimentos como en cualquier país del mundo Venezuela tiene frutos muy propios, y en este post les voy a contar sobre algunos que me hacen viajar a esos días cuando era niña y andaba como monita de árbol en árbol comiendo y siendo libre. No es mi intención hacerles una descripción cientifíca de ellos, sino contarles mis sensaciones y sentimientos con respecto a lo que experimenté al comerlos.

Comencemos por un fruto que conocí en los llanos venezolanos, este fruto se llama GUAMA; el fruto está dentro de una vaina, se cosecha de un árbol y en mi niñez nos montabamos a los árboles para bajarlas, como ven en los dibujos donde traté de recrear cada fruto, en el caso de la Guama tiene una semilla adentro recubierta con una especie de capa blanca suave y dulcita, que se quita al chuparla, a mí me hacía sentir toda una emoción destapar la vaina y su sabor dulce está a la par de cualquier chuchería artificial. Mis recuerdos me llevan a los momentos en que viajabamos con mi mamá y era emocionante llegar a los campos y trepar árboles y sentir la felicidad de poder trepar, correr y sentir el viento llanero hacer volar mis cabellos rizados.

Esta fruta la llamamos en El Pauji,lugar donde la conocí, "POMARROSA". Era muy extraña porque tenía un sabor y aroma como a un perfume dulce, redonda con su coronita también caía de un árbol, adentro tenía semillas sueltas y era bastante hueca por dentro, un color amarillo suave la definía y había que comerla muy madura, porque sino el sabor no era tan agradable. No tengo con qué fruto comparalo, creo que es única; Me lleva a mi amada Gran Sabana, en el estado Bolívar, lugar donde pasé los años más hermosos de mi infancia, y de donde son la mayoría de los frutos que hoy les mencionaré aquí.

La fruta del "MORICHE", es extraña, tiene una cáscara dura, una piel que le hace ver como una pequeña piña, cuando le quitas la cáscara descubres una carne amarilla que tiene un sabor astringente y ácido, no es de mis preferidas pero me lleva al momento en que ibamos a los morichales, lo versátil de esta fruta es que puedes comerla con sal y sabe muy bien, o en jugos o helados y también sabe bien, la palma de Moriche también produce un gusano que forma parte de la alimentación de las personas de la zona.  Recuerdo que junto a pequeños rios  podiamos pasar horas bañándonos y siendo muy felices como niños, recolectando esta fruta. También me trae esa sensación de amistad bonita con mis amigos indígenas de la zona, donde no había ningún tipo de diferencias, simplemente éramos niños compartiendo de momentos felices.

La PUMALACA es un fruto que enamora con su color, no sé como se le llama en otros estados de Venezuela, porque sé que también hay en muchos lugares, el color es como un rojo intenso ligado con morado, tiene una forma de pera perqueña y por dentro una carne blanca y jugosa como aolchonada, que tiene una mezcla entre ácido, dulce y astringente. cuando está muy madura se deshace en la boca y es de esos frutos que no puedes parar de comer. Mis recuerdos me llevan a un pueblito a las fronteras con Brasil, con calles de granzón donde cada tantos kilómetros tenías una alfombra roja constituida por estos frutos que caía de un árbol largo y alto.

La "Guayabita Sabanera", ¡Esto es lo máximo!, un pequeño fruto que nace de arbustos silvestres en algunas zonas de la Gran Sabana, tiene por fuera el aspecto de una guayaba amarilla, por dentro una pulpa llena de semillitas negritas, un sabor dulce y ácido a la vez, corríamos en tropa cuando veímos un arbusto cargado de ellos, llenabamos nuestras franelas de estos frutos y nos sentíamos millonarios, es uno de los sabores que más extraño, si alguna vez fuese al extranjero y me preguntaran ¿Qué fruta venezolana extrañas más? seguro sería esta. Pues encierra toda mi experiencia en uno de los lugares que más amo y extraño de mi país.

El Merey, si, pero no en su forma de semilla, sino como fruto, de colores rojo o amarillo, habían dos arbustos hermosos en mi casa materna, un sabor definitivamente único, ácido, dulce, jugoso y refrescante, si comes mucho te causa una sensación astringente en los dientes, pero cuesta no comerlo, pasar horas en mi casa bajo uno de estos arbustos y pendiente de no tocar con los labios la semilla, ya que en su estado no procesado puede quemarte los labios. Sus colores definitivamente siempre me traerán esos recuerdos de estar al frente de mi casa, cantando y tocando cuatro con quién me enseñó a amar la música, sobre todo la venezolana y el arte en todas sus formas, mi poetisa favorita, Mi mamá. 



Hasta aquí llego por ahora, quería contarles de esos sabores muy venezolanos que amo, que me llevan a mi niñez, que hacen que sienta que Venezuela es más que un mango, un cambur o cualquier otra fruta tropical, que también son deliciosas, pero tenemos muchas frutas propias que traen esa esencia de venezolanidad que me encanta.

# Hello my Dears

Being Venezuelan is one of the blessings of my life, and although I am one of those who dream of the utopia that someday there will be no borders on planet earth, while there are, being within the borders of Venezuela has been an extraordinary experience throughout my life.

I have traveled through many states of my country and I have also lived in a few, for this reason I feel that I have been able to enjoy many places, traditions and also very particular foods. In the case of food as in any country in the world Venezuela has very own fruits, and in this post I will tell you about some that make me travel to those days when I was a child and walked like a monkey from tree to tree eating and being free. It is not my intention to make a scientific description of them, but to tell you my sensations and feelings about what I experienced when I ate them.

Let's start with a fruit that I knew in the Venezuelan plains, this fruit is called GUAMA; the fruit is inside a pod, it is harvested from a tree and in my childhood we used to climb the trees to get it down, as you can see in the drawings where I tried to recreate each fruit, in the case of the Guama it has a seed inside covered with a kind of soft and sweet white layer, which is removed by sucking it, to me it made me feel a whole emotion to uncover the pod and its sweet taste is on par with any artificial candy. My memories take me back to the times when we used to travel with my mom and it was exciting to get to the fields and climb trees and feel the happiness of being able to climb, run and feel the llanero wind blow my curly hair.

In El Pauji, where I met this fruit, we called it "POMARROSA". It was very strange because it had a flavor and aroma like a sweet perfume, round with its little crown also fell from a tree, inside it had loose seeds and was quite hollow inside, a soft yellow color defined it and it had to be eaten very ripe, because otherwise the flavor was not so pleasant. I don't have a fruit to compare it with, I think it is unique; it takes me to my beloved Gran Sabana, in the state of Bolivar, place where I spent the most beautiful years of my childhood, and where most of the fruits that I will mention here today are from.

The fruit of the "MORICHE", is strange, it has a hard shell, a skin that makes it look like a small pineapple, when you remove the shell you discover a yellow flesh that has an astringent and acid taste, it is not one of my favorites but it takes me back to the time when we went to the morichales, The versatile thing about this fruit is that you can eat it with salt and it tastes very good, or in juices or ice cream and it also tastes good, the Moriche palm also produces a worm that is part of the diet of the people of the area.  I remember that next to small rivers we could spend hours bathing and being very happy as children, collecting this fruit. It also brings me that feeling of beautiful friendship with my indigenous friends of the area, where there were no differences, we were just children sharing happy moments.

The PUMALACA is a fruit that makes you fall in love with its color, I do not know how it is called in other states of Venezuela, because I know that there are also in many places, the color is like an intense red linked with purple, it has a small pear shape and inside a white and juicy flesh like padded, which has a mixture of acid, sweet and astringent. when it is very ripe it melts in your mouth and it is one of those fruits that you can not stop eating. My memories take me to a small town on the border with Brazil, with granzón streets where every so many kilometers you had a red carpet made of these fruits falling from a long and tall tree.

The "Guayabita Sabanera", this is the best ! a small fruit that comes from wild bushes in some areas of the Gran Sabana, it has the appearance of a yellow guava on the outside, inside a pulp full of black seeds, a sweet and sour taste at the same time, we ran in troops when we saw a bush full of them, we filled our flannels with these fruits and we felt like millionaires, is one of the flavors that I miss the most, if I ever went abroad and I was asked what Venezuelan fruit do you miss the most, surely it would be this one. Well, it contains all my experience in one of the places I love and miss the most from my country.

The Merey, yes, but not in its seed form, but as a fruit, red or yellow, there were two beautiful bushes in my mother's house, a definitely unique flavor, sour, sweet, juicy and refreshing, if you eat a lot it causes an astringent sensation in your teeth, but it is hard not to eat it, spend hours in my house under one of these bushes and pending not to touch the seed with your lips, because in its unprocessed state it can burn your lips. Its colors will definitely always bring back those memories of being in front of my house, singing and playing cuatro with the person who taught me to love music, especially Venezuelan music and art in all its forms, my favorite poetess, my mom. 



This is as far as I go for now, I wanted to tell you about those very Venezuelan flavors that I love, that take me back to my childhood, that make me feel that Venezuela is more than a mango, a cambur or any other tropical fruit, which are also delicious, but we have many fruits of our own that bring that essence of Venezuelanness that I love.
