As you can see in the picture, the cake has a name pasted on the front. Generally, for this type of work is used a Cameo 4, a machine for personal use that can cut decorative vinyl, cardboard, mica, foami and different fabrics. This machine has an approximate cost of 432 dollars, money that I do not have because the business does not yet generate enough income to make this type of investment. In addition, the material used is an acid-free cardboard that is not available in the city where I live.

Como pueden ver en la imagen, la torta tiene un nombre pegado en frente. Por lo general, para este tipo de trabajos es usada una Cameo 4, máquina de uso personal que puede cortar vinilos decorativos, cartulina, mica, foami y diferentes telas. Este aparato tiene un costo aproximado de 432 dólares, dinero con el cual no cuento porque el negocio aun no genera los ingresos suficientes como para hacer este tipo de inversión. Además, el material que se usa es una cartulina libre de ácido que cabe destacar, no se consigue en la ciudad donde vivo.

After much thought, I remembered I had wafer paper; so I came up with a great idea. But, before I put my idea into action, I first did a little test to make sure it would work. With that test done and seeing that it would work, I got to work. I took the wafer paper, placed it on top of Marce's name, which I had printed on regular paper, and with a non-toxic graphite pencil I traced the name. Then, with a lot of patience and care, I started to cut out with a small scissors and the sides that were more difficult and fragile, I used a scalpel. You can also use a box cutter.

Después de mucho pensar, recordé que tenía papel de oblea; por lo que se me ocurrió una genial idea. Pero, antes de poner en marcha mi idea, primero hice una pequeña prueba para estar segura de que iba a funcionar. Hecha la prueba y ver que funcionaría,  me puse manos a la obra. Agarré el papel de oblea, lo coloqué encima del nombre de Marce que lo tenía impreso en un papel común y con un lápiz de grafito no tóxico calqué el nombre. Acto seguido, me armé de mucha paciencia y con mucho cuidado, empecé a recortar con una tijera pequeña y los lados que se me hacían más difíciles y eran más frágiles, usé un bisturí. También se puede usar un exacto.

In case you want to apply this idea, if the wafer paper breaks when you are cutting it, put a little bit of water on the edge where it broke and glue it. You can use your wet finger or a brush. But be careful! Moisten just a little bit, because the wafer paper will peel off when it gets wet.

En caso de que quieras aplicar esta idea, si se te rompe el papel de oblea cuando lo estés cortando, colócale un poquitico de agua en la orilla donde se rompió y lo pegas. Puedes usar tu dedo húmedo o un pincel. Pero, ojo! Humedecer solo un poco, porque el papel de oblea se desase cuando se moja.
