"Escape the Matrix" is in Andrew Tate's Twitter-bio, and the idea of escaping the Matrix is becoming more and more popular among the red-pilled personalities in the manosphere, as well as other right wing influencers. The Matrix and the red - and blue pills are concepts taken from the popular 1999 film "[The Matrix](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Matrix)" which tells the story about Neo who discovers that life as we know it is actually an elaborate computer simulation, called "The Matrix", meant to control humanity. The film's protagonist is given a choice between a blue - and a red pill; if he chooses blue, he'll remain in The Matrix and forget about "The Real World", but if he chooses the red pill he'll stay awake and join a small band of rebels who fight against the machines who have taken over the planet, and use an enslaved humanity for their energy.
The Matrix is one of my all time favorite films, as it asks a lot of deep questions about philosophic concepts like what is reality, and does free will exist? What also makes this film brilliant is that there's no way for us to know if it's true. There's no way to know if we do or do not live in such a simulation; the [simulation hypothesis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulation_hypothesis) proposes that all of our existence is a simulated reality, such as a computer simulation. The "reality is but an illusion" thesis dates back many centuries, but its modern form was popularized by [Nick Bostrom](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Bostrom). It's interesting stuff to ponder on, as I have many times in my posts. But it's something else to take this idea and apply it to our world in order to make money, and that's what's going on with the right wing self-help personas today.
Their narrative is that ordinary people are being controlled by a social Matrix, that they're mindless drones who sheepishly go along with the demands society has placed upon them. This system controls everyone, especially men. They say that "the system" is geared towards enslaving the masses, keeping them imprisoned in 9 to 5 jobs, an education system meant to output obedient slaves, fake news and "woke" norms. The Matrix makes men weak and women forget their place and it confuses the sexes into abject gender-fluidity. Especially if you're a young man, you should break free from this madness. Real men take what's rightfully theirs. Real men have beautiful women fighting for their attention and approval, but real men make enough money to show *all* these beautiful women a good time. There's no need to fight, because a real man can have all of the beautiful women, and they won't mind sharing those real men.
That's their message, and it's obvious to whom it's directed; lonely young men who aspire to become the next Andrew Tate, who owns more than 30 super sports cars and can seemingly have every woman he wants. And luck has it that Andrew is willing to share his secrets to such success. That is as long as you wire $50 to his bank account. He accepts Bitcoin too. In fact he prefers Bitcoin. For $50 per month you can join his "Hustler University" and learn how to escape the Matrix by making enough money to not depend on its structures anymore. Be "your own man", don't work for a boss, go to the gym, drive nice cars and have beautiful women throw themselves at your feet. That's the promise, but only if you *really* work hard of course. That's the usual caveat given in any MLM (Multi Level Marketing) scheme, as it provides an out for the 99.99 percent who'll never achieve the promised amount of success. Like I always say: beware of people who provide simple solutions to complex problems, they're always after something (money, loyalty) from you.
The real solution is somewhat more difficult. You see, many of the problems described by these red-pilled self-help scammers are real. The system *is* geared towards maintaining the status quo and keeping the power where it's always been. But that system has a name: it's capitalism. But no one wants to hear that; that's not a message that can be converted into a quick buck. It's not masculine or macho to be shitty towards women, or to not accept homosexual or transgender people. You're not a "real man" because you go to the gym or drive a nice car. Instead of pointing at the real cause of the problems, capitalism, the Andrew Tates of our world paint a fantasy picture in order to profit from the system. Their advice incentivizes their followers to further participate in the system, not freeing, but further entangling them in the Matrix. The obsessive focus on traditional gender roles, with openly misogynist language and behavior, is also geared at preserving the traditional power hierarchies of the Matrix.
Watch the film. Enjoy the film and think seriously about the questions asked by the film. But then, when you're back in the real world, forget about the Matrix. Instead demand real changes in the real system. Be a man and fight, not just for yourself but for others who are less fortunate than you. It's weak to make yourself believe that your manhood depends on how much dollars are in your bank account, or how many women you've shared your bed with. In "The Real World" men are strong but caring, prioritize responsibilities over nice cars and help old ladies across the street. Real men in the real world aren't misogynist and bigoted assholes. Tate's "Hustler University" doesn't exist anymore, but he's replaced it with another scam called... Are you ready for it? "[The Real World](https://taterealworld.com/)"! LOL.
