Three stories.

<b>Today was just another day among all the other days.</b> Worked, danced, stretched, said embarrassing things. Or were the words embarrassing, I'll let you to decide.

There's this one song in my previous fitness dance program, that many of my customers have said that they like it a lot. And there's this one customer particularly that has asked me few times if I still have that song on my program. I've already replaced it with another song, but when that customer comes to my class, I'll play that song. For her.  And I have to admit, the song is quite catchy. I'd like it too if I didn't have to listen to it so often. A definite hit song.

So today I was substituting a class and that customer came to the class too. A good friend I might add. As the lesson was going on, it was time to play that song, and I suppose she was not expecting it as I had said to her previously that it has been in the program for so long that it was time to forget it for a while. But as I just said, I like surprising people. And pleasing them... which will soon get a whole different meaning as you hear my whole story.

Let's call her Jennifer. Yes. Jennifer is a good name.

So I chose the song from my previous program, pointed at her with my fingers and said with a firm and perhaps a bit loud and too enthusiastic voice:
"Jennifer, THIS IS FOR YOU!"

Yeah.

As the song started I kinda remembered what the song is about. And all I could think was: "God dammit! You freaking IDIOT! You've chosen this song, you've done a slightly provocative choreography to it. You've danced it tens, perhaps hundreds of times. Now how the heck did you not remember what the lyrics are about. Why, oh, why on earth didn't you just say: next song is... WHY did you have to point at her and say that this is for you?!"

So I ruined it for both of us.

It was embarrassing in every way I can think of.

It's embarrassing if I and this person I call Jennifer were lovers and this is the way I wanted to let everyone know why I love her and what's going on in our bedroom / kitchen / living room / on the roof...
It's embarrassing if she did not know about my affection and this would be my confession to her because I've heard her talk about what she likes. (Which I have not.)
It's embarrassing if we do not like each other that way and I just wanted to play this song for her and pointed out that I wanted to play this song for her.

It was really embarrassing for me, for her and the customers that heard and understood me and also understood the lyrics. Embarrassing in every way. Most people do not want to know details of other people's sex life. Or confessions like that.

So I had about three and half minutes to think if I should explain this thing to other customers on that class or should I just brush it off and be like nothing had happened. Play it cool. Explaining almost never makes things better, but nevertheless, I decided to explain.

After the song I tried.

"So... cool song... just so that you know... this was just... like... everyone can wish their favorite songs from me... not like most of you could because I'm substituting now, so.. but yeah... We don't, she has a family and we do not have that kind of relationship, sorry Jennifer, no... I mean... not sorry that we don't have that... I mean this song... no... what I said.. um... okay... moving on..."

I heard one customer laugh.

I could not look at anyone.

The introvert in me was trying to dig myself a deeeeeep hole through the floorboards. The extrovert in me had bailed out of the building right after the words: "Jennifer, this is for you!"

After that song I had two fast songs left and one slow cool down song. I think they lasted longer than normally. Regular hit song lengths, but I think it was three hours. The last few minutes just seemed to last longer than normally.

What did we learn about this?

NOTHING!

Absolutely nothing.

I am one of those people who at first are silent for a long time and when I suddenly for no reason get an urge to talk or someone lets me talk or does the horrible mistake that they actually listen at me, I may say anything! Because: "I'm Mr. Meeseeks, look at me!" I aim to please. And make things right. At all costs. And I have no brain. But I have the ability to talk and do stuff.

Next instructor came to her class and because we always have couple of minutes time to catch up everything that has happened since we last saw, which in this case was two weeks and previous to that, well, few years ago, I decided to tell her what I just had done. At the same time as I was gathering my stuff and she spreading out her stuff. I mean taking out her music and water bottle and... you know. Stuff to the table we instructors have there to spread our stuff... out... there... um... moving on.

I explained quickly the lyrics and what I said and did... And she laughed so hard. And as I was laughing with her, I was thinking that she really shouldn't laugh that hard. This will scar me for life. But then she shared her own recent embarrassing moment.

<b>Because she laughed so hard, I will share you her brainless words.</b> Although they are no match to mine. Or are they? I let you decide.

Firstly, she looks like a bodybuilder. She has a thin waist but wide shoulders and biceps almost as thick as my thighs. She told me that this week she was instructing a class to women who work in such line of work that usually has more men than women in it. She was finishing the weight lifting class and she said to her customers: "After this we can all go home, take a refreshing shower and start cooking and cleaning." <sub>Because that's what we women do all the time and that's what we are meant to do, right? No, she did not say this sub text. These are my thoughts. When I go home, after shower I whip my personal slaves to cook and clean for me. Just so you know.</sub>

Now if you did not at least sneer at this comment, there is something seriously wrong with you. If you do not see the irony in it, you have to stop reading this post and never ever come back again. Forget that this account exists. That I exist.

Anyway. I think that comment to the room full of ladies wasn't that bad. And it can easily be understood as sarcasm. That's what I always tell people who have to listen my sentences that I have no idea where they came from. If it can be understood as a sarcastic comment, then that it was. <sup>Sarcasm. I excellence in it.</sup>

Moving on.

What I do think is worse than my embarrassing moment today, is one of my co-workers failure that she told me couple of years ago.

It's not: "Oh, it's you! Didn't recognize you with your clothes on!" when you meet a customer in casual wear somewhere out there. Walking in the streets or waiting in a movie theater line.

That's an everyday sentence that we can all laugh fondly to. That can be thrown to anyone, anywhere.

No.

Like my embarrassing moment, this has everything to do with the fact that you should always listen the songs you pick and about the fact that you should always think who you play the songs to. And that you should remember the songs you have chosen.

<b>My friend and co-worker, had a group of 60 to 80 year old men that she instructed in a gym.</b> A regular, weekly thing. She almost forgot to choose new songs after playing the same old ones for 5 weeks, but didn't. But unfortunately she was in a hurry and only listened few of the songs and some only remembered to be good ones. So she thought she didn't have to listen all of the songs. She picked couple that had a somewhat 70's punk rock theme in them, but then again suitable for gym working and weight lifting. Not too fast but not too slow.

She new all her customers by name because she had had the group for couple of years. So she went to the class. It had been going on for a good thirty minutes or so. And then she started listening to the song that was currently playing, and not so quietly because her group happened to like a bit louder music.

Let's say that one of her customers was named George.

She did remember that she used to like the song, perhaps ten or twenty years ago when she heard the song first time, but what she didn't remember was the chorus. And the lyrics.

The chorus has only couple of words.

Repeated.

Over and over again.

It goes like:

"George, George is an impotent!
George is an impotent!
Is an impotent."

.
.
.
.
.
.

Yeah.

Punk.

You do remember that there actually was one person named George in her group.

Pretty embarrassing.

She was in the middle of instructing one of the customers in some gym middle age torturing machine, so she couldn't leave right away to change the song, but she said that she suddenly developed a really bad cough.

I think that tops my embarrassing moment.
