From these peoples scientists made a eye from them which gives the real function of human eye. This artificial eye is made Zhiyong fan and his colleagues in hong kong. Some information about this artificial eye :
The artifical eye is two centimeters in diameter which is same size of normal adult eye. The eye has has lens to focus and hemispheric retina. Retina is at the back of the eye where the signals gets generated and given to the human brain. This is done by photosensitive cells. The space between these two parts is filled with conductive fluid and a light colored gel. The retina of this artificial eye is made from the porous aluminum oxide filled with compacted nanowires.these are sensitive to light and are made from the perovskite. These types of device is used in solar cells. The function of wires is to trafer the signals to the brings . These are same as our nerve cells.
The ablity test of this invention is done and the recognition ability test is also done. The team put some images to the lens of this eye and the wires at the back are connected to the computer. The images given to the lens we seen clearly on the computer. For fitting this eye to the human this eye will be connected to the optic nerve of the human beings. But still this test is pending there may be any medical falt.
There are few limitation of this eye these will be eliminated later:
This eye needs an external power source. So we have to give the power supply ti this eye but in future they are planning ti make it self-sufficient. The eye will take the energy from the sun in future. They will put some nano cells to this eye . The nano cells will give the function of solar cells. Another limitation of that is low image resolution compared to the sensors such as smartphones. It has also few degree of sensation. Scientists are trying to eliminate these limitations and hope they will suceed in that.
