Very true, and I can honestly see these exchanges being regulated by a body like the FTC. That move would not be in-line with our 'decentralized' movement, but would mean big market makers joined the fold and the crypto market cap would explode towards the trillion mark. While having controlled exchanges would limit us in one way, once funds are out the exchanges, they would still be decentralized and anonymous on the users end. Would be a scary, if not interesting time.

Yes, I mean, I doubt we will truly find out what happened yesterday with Eth on GDAX, but without safety stops in place, spikes like that will make A LOT of people nervous, and I am sure regulatory bodies will be chomping at the bit to see a catastrophe to happen that will give them the excuse to step in and 'save/ruin the day'.
