They are attracting much talent and companies. The article states how MasterCard, one of the preeminent global credit cards, is hiring 175 blockchain engineers for Masercard Ireland. It goes on to say “Mastercard is open to the idea of state issued cryto currencies”. Mastercard has filed Blockchain patents back in 2016 for process payments instantly over the blockchain —- but not with Bitcoin. Just another example of the Bankers fighting off Bitcoin....and clearly Mastercard fighting for it’s life. We saw this also with the recent pullout of Visa working with LitePay for Litecoin. It’s interesting to watch how the government and old way companies are choosing strategies to compete with crypto’s and the blockchain.

It's interesting to watch how the govern-cements and old way companies... completely miss the point about block-chain. The things they think aren't important, are in fact the most important. The aspects of the control they absolutely want to maintain are those that they absolutely need to give up. These companies are doomed, because they cannot see. They will say, we made something exactly like bitcoin, why doesn't anyone want to use it? The difference to us will be even more apparent than fake gold vs real gold, and more meaningful. My bet is that they won't even gold plate it. They will truly try to offer us lead while we have gold.

Yep, trying their same old mode of CONTROL. If we control the exchanges, we can control the flow of bitcoin. Just like we own COMEX. But, people are already starting to see fishy things happening in coinbase. A huge group of people can't trade, because "the market is locked" but some trades are still happening... So, decentralized exchanges and automic swaps will happen faster. Mastercard and DCG could have made TONS of money by operating the above board exchange of choice, but because they are all about control, everyone will leave Coinbase. It will become like the NYSE, where the floor is only for hosting TV shows.

I think that is what Mastercard/Visa are “war gaming” right now....do they fight or facilitate. They know the Lightning Network or other is just a matter of time. I think they are very much invested behind the scenes.
