Well thank you! The '.eth' names are part of a system called the [ENS (Ethereum Name Service)](https://ens.domains/). My name, Tomshwom.eth, is stored in a smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain and it points to 0x01308ccc9746bee0f26e10d17d62643a01a95b2e. Services that support the ENS like MyEtherWallet, Etherscan, and others allow you to simply type the .eth name instead of trying to type or copy/paste the whole address. You can always go to Etherscan and type the .eth name into the search box and it will come up with something like [this page](https://etherscan.io/enslookup?q=tomshwom.eth).

@tomshwom, I've never sent any crypto to anyone so far. I just tried to send 0.007 ETH to tomshwom.eth from GDAX and I got an invalid address message. So I sent it to the actual address you provided above, copy/pasted into the GDAX eth address box. I hope it worked or I've just lost about $5 in the bit bucket. Thanks again, Rick
