The shift card is convenient to acquire. First download the android/iOS app and make an account. After linking a decade and/or a bank account, and depositing 10 usd equivalent of btc you can purchase a shift card. Second you use the shift app and link to your coin base app so the card is bought using btc. The card usaly takes a couple business days to arrive. Then basicly anywhere visa is accepted, so will your btc. 

The daily limit is 1000 usd so it's a great option for daily need such as groceries and glass. The card is a little flimsy and cheap compared to most cards, and has no chip. 

The shift card was released November 20th 2015. This card along with the many others mentioned in joelgonz1982 post mark the movement toward adoption of cryptocurreny.
