My main suggestion would be to engage with people. Really engage. Find a few posters you enjoy and follow and comment on their posts. Really build up a dialogue with them and the ideas being presented. 

If you present good ideas in comments, people will eventually want to find your ideas in your own blog. 

Meanwhile, you can search out communities to help out like the Minnow Support Project to engage with other Steemians outside of the platform.
