How do I even work?
Several times I have had a full time job. I never really get fired from a job, but that doesn't mean that everything goes that easily. The problem is that while I am very capable at many things and I can actually focus on something, there are some things that I cannot handle really well.

- I don't handle pressure really well. While most people work better under pressure, I completely break down with pressure. Solutions: talking through what is actually needed, goes with my second point:
- I cannot work on things that don't serve something good. Most jobs involve inventing things when you go idle. Yeah, don't do that with me. I complete real jobs really quickly, sometimes needing to invent new ways to solve something.
- My way of working involves triggering a kind of laziness. I love things that reduce unnecessary work. And as such most jobs sound pretty pointless to me.
- Bad handling of transitions (something very autistic), including things like getting out of bed or getting to sleep. Hence I tend to have a not ideal sleeping rhythm, and I might get late at work. I have done 40h jobs though, so I can do that, but it's definitely not something that comes that easily for me.

People find it hard to imagine, because there are some things I do really well:

- For someone with autism, I am pretty social. I talk well with people, and especially for my second point:
- I am a pretty good troubleshooter. When I talk with someone, I generally manage to find the real problem, and solve it.
- I don't usually do the common solutions, because they rarely really fix the problem people have, instead I find a solution specific for the people I talk with.

And then we hit another "problem":

- I love fixing problems so much, that I usually tend to do it for free... Yeah, how can I survive in a job-oriented world just helping other people out without asking anything for it?

So that's also a problem I am trying to fix... but that's not so easy. Any suggestions?

Interesting reading. Perhaps you should become a counselor and get properly paid for it.
"Bad handling of transitions (something very autistic), including things like getting out of bed or getting to sleep." this makes me thinking. My son seems to have the same problem. How to deal as a parent with it? After he had finally managed the transition everthing is fine with him again (full blown tantrum before). I try to focus on the positive sides of his personality, however it is not easy...
