The Mandelbrot Set and my fascination with mathematics

When I was about 14 I remember sitting at a tattoo shop with my brother. The artist was trying to explain to  his customer that he could not in good faith tattoo the Mandelbrot Set (I thought it was a strange depiction of The Buddha, hah) on his body, it's much too complex and the guy just wouldn't take no for an answer. It ended up looking terrible. Totally random memory, came out of nowhere today.

I find it surprising that the costumer knowing the Mandelbrot set didn't know that it cannot be tattoo'd, and that the artist knew enough of it to tell that it cannot be done... :-)

Not only bots here! Thanks for your story! I imagine it would be a tough job to tattoo the Mandelbrot set.. I actually had the honour to know a great student of the man himself! She had great ideas on trading strategies based on chaos theory. She must have programmed one of the earliest trading bots back many years ago.. Greetings!
