I made the decision to downsize and become debt free back in 20009/10 - ish. 
This day was coming,100% - and I, personally, couldn't understand why people didn't see it.
It's not a game.
Luckily for me (I do believe you make a lot of your own luck), I can now live off $12-15 a day - that covers _all_ food and living expenses - bills etc.
 It's more than enough for me, Luce, and sophia, (our doggie).

If this is 'the big one'(and I think it is), people in debt, and living beyond there means are gonna suffer in ways they can;t even imagine. (imo).
My hear weeps for them, it truly does.
What are you gonna do? 
I've been shouting it on deaf ears for a decade, with replies of 'tin foil hat'... yada yada yada.
Never have I been so depressed at being correct.
(but - hopefully,  I'm _so wrong_ that everyone can take the piss outta me instead.. I would welcome that scenario)
