Since childhood, we have grown up listening or reading the stories of the fairies, gods, devils, stories giving moral lessons, the tales of famous people and comics, etc. Every story that we heard or read, surely leaves an impression somewhere in the mind. The experience of visiting Mumbai and the art galleries of Kala Ghoda Art circuit reminds me of some of the old stories and freshens up my old memories and old teachings. I started to recall the stories of my Moral Education, the concepts of "Save Trees, Save Yourself", "Honesty is the best policy", "Hard work is the key to success", etc. I somehow managed to connect those concepts with my experiences of meeting different people and seeing different artworks and observed how those teachings are applied in real world.
**Jahangir Art Gallery, Mumbai**

We went to Khala Ghoda Art Circuit to see the artworks and paintings of different artists. Our task was to understand the artworks and to find out the thought process of the artists while making the artworks. We went to the Jahangir Art Gallery and saw the paintings of five artists. All of them had their different concepts and a unique style of painting but I am very much inspired by the paintings of Mr. Haroon Khimani. When I saw his paintings, initially, I wasn't able to understand what they were trying to say. It's only with the help of the titles written there; I was able to understand them. The concepts of his paintings were very unique and he finds beauty in nature, mostly in destructed and broken elements.
**Haroon Khimani**

When I saw "Together make up a whole" painting of Haroon Khimani, a very famous story popped up in my mind, which I read in junior classes. It was a story of a father who wanted to teach his son a lesson. He gave his son a stick and asked him to break it. The boy broke it with ease. Father, then, asked him to break the bundle of stick but the boy was unable to break it. The boy then learned a lesson that the strength lies in the unity of the sticks that don't let the sticks break. I was able to connect this story with the title and decided that I should work on this concept further.
**Together make up a whole**

As our task was to find out the thought process of the artist while making up the painting. I also built a story to justify the painter's title. I connected it with the positive and negative energies. From either side of this painting, positive and negative energies are coming in and merging at the center to make a full human body. This conveys that the humans possess both positive and negative energies and when they come together, they make up a whole human.
I further worked on this concept, researched and also made a prototype of jewelry which I will be sharing soon in my next post.
Hope you like it!
**Have a wonderful day!**
See you in next post.
