I'm still new to this Steemit/blogging community, and as a result I can be a bit timid when it comes to posting. I have about a half dozen posts saved for later posting, primarily because I believe them to be inferior, or not up to snuff. Often, I'll see very similar content to the things I'm writing about, which ultimately demotivates me from hitting the 'post' button.

I find this very similar to many ideas I've had in the past, which many of you might be able to relate to. The scenario tends to play out something like this: 

- Cool, seemingly unique idea pops into my head, either by my own bemusement or through conversation.
- I begin to discuss the idea with other people, getting a decent amount of positive feedback.
- I start to research this idea, testing to see just how unique it appears to be.
- Most of the time, I lose momentum when I discover that, gee, my idea isn't so unique after all. Usually, someone has had that idea before, often times already pursuing it the point of producing a product. 
- A creative lull sets in, as the initial idea buzz wears off.

I believe myself to be a fairly creative person, someone who can come up with relatively inventive concepts/ideas. However, I find the hardest part is often getting over the moment when you realize that the idea you're having isn't that unique. Of course, the execution of the idea is ultimately what will set it apart, but alas, all too often I succumb to the belief that "well, it's been done before, no point doing it if I'm not the first."

Which brings me back to my initial point. I've had plenty of things I've wanted to share with the Steemit community, only to decide against posting them for one reason or another. I'm going to change this trend by sharing these ideas, whether they be "unique" or not.

And with that, I am hitting the 'post' button.
