I've been noticing the  same level of surprising decentralization on the blockchain API level.  

I just wrote a post on my latest  project:  [The Steem Stake Sterilizer. ](https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@edicted/dsteem-tutorial-lesson-4-steem-stake-sterilizer-discussion-filtration) 

[Using my filter,](https://gist.github.com/edict3d/9f6358f850449f9d9a4ee633bac5ac23) you can grab thousands of posts from the 'New' tab and filter them to  only show accounts that have higher than 'x' Steem Power.

The number  of accounts that have more than 100, 200, 300, etc. Steem power is staggering.  I didn't know that many users had stake.

Also, I'm delegating 145 Steem to @actifit.  Those 100 coins a day plus the coins I get from using the app give me quite the dopamine hit.
