Recently I wrote a post about how many of my conversations about Steem are on Discord or Twitter. That post seemed to resonate with many. I was mentioning how my interactions on Twitter about Steem seemed ironic. It's not just Twitter though, recently I've been consumed with Discord, Twitter, some want me to discuss on reddit. And in one situation, a meeting to plan a meeting happened. This triggered me because.. ## Flash Back: Five years ago I made a personal choice to leave the Corporate world because I was burnt out on Managing people, schedules, internal politics, various agendas and meetings. Right before I quit I was reassigned as my burn-out was showing. ;) Which for me means making snarky, too honest statements in company-wide meetings. While I was updating my calendar I removed 35 hours a week of recurring mandatory meetings. That becomes a waste of time. We started as a small company. We prided ourselves on being fast, unburdened, and keeping everything simple. We were so successful at it that we kept being acquired by bigger and bigger companies. More politics, more administrative tasks and reporting, more policies and eventually we lost what had made us successful in the first place and not long after my departure the huge company failed. They failed because they moved away from what had created success in the first place. Easy to use, accurate, responsive products that solved a problem for healthcare providers using stream-lined easy to use applications. We were really good at it and I am still proud of what we built. ## Back to current days With our fascination with decentralized and independent actors and a blockchain run by stakeholders who value code above human interaction, I am unclear regarding our path. If crypto really is an emerging technology, just like the Internet and computers before it, crypto innovators will be largely devoured by large companies who have teams of people to Market, Organize and move the industry forward. I see signs of that happening already. https://busy.org/@whatsup/after-the-blockchain-hoopla-ends In the meantime, I still see this as a huge opportunity which is being mismanaged by lack of leadership and direction. But how do you manage the unmanageable? Zero direction and leadership is not enough, and there is such a thing as too much. How do we find a balance? I see too many faces on Discord and other platforms who have stopped communicating on our own platform at all. While I will still be in those places, I'm moving my communications back to the blockchain. Keep on posting. @whatsup

>Five years ago I made a personal choice to leave the Corporate world because I was burnt out on Managing people, schedules, internal politics, various agendas and meetings. Oh how I remember those 'wasted' hours attending 'mandatory' meetings, even within the Non-Profit Org. arena as well...with numerous Senior level managers who seemed to exist 'only' for the purpose of attending meetings... Then, they'd all have 'lunch' together, while we 'mid-level' managers went back to 'real' work, attempting to make up for falling behind in 'real' work, due to 'meetings'...??? Internal politics, hidden agendas, and all that other crap you mention in your article reminds me of how much 'happier' I am/was to have detached myself from that dysfunctional and least productive working environment.

Yep. Time to build your inclusive groups here... Kinda surprised Canna and the GanjaCoward pulled so much off of the blockchain here for other places and an ego. Could be worse... I've learned some important lessons... But building here? Hell yeah! And Partiko points too! Posted using [Partiko Android](https://partiko.app/referral/ganjafarmer)

Blockchain gives humanity a new dimension in the way it chooses to organise itself. There will be many versions on different parts of the spectrum, from decentralisation to a Facebook token or the JPM Coin. With blockchain and smart contracts it could be possible to create new network organisations that are totally transparent on what margin they take to provide their services and all funds flowing through the network transparently. With stake holders getting their share for being capital providers. We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg on what blockchain will do for humanity.

That might be correct, but first it has to run through the hands of human mismanagement. I actually figured this response was part of AI Friday! :)

Just my limited human mind unfortunately. I am sure our mismanagement won't get in the way if us eventually handing over the world to our superior AI masters.

I'm hoping to see clones of everything useful with Steem Engine SMT's now. Would really love a Twitter clone that's on it's own with it's own token.

>We started as a small company. We prided ourselves on being fast, unburdened, and keeping everything simple. I think that this was the foundation of your success. If you can combine this with a team of smart driven individuals then any project has a good chance of success. Once you start to add too many rules and regulations every gets worse and slows down. It limits what you can do and how you can adapt to the world. You do need a certain amount of rules to have structure and grow so it's a fine balance to have.

totally agree.. lets communicate on the steem BC directly... .. but I encountered already some problems in regards to this principles as many steemians - especially the whales and orcas - do not bother at all to look into their own blogs' comments section.. not to mention answering and commenting there.. whenever you try to catch those people you always hear: contact me on discord...

The never-ending Steem-Discord conflict... Discord really helps in having 'group convo's' which makes for quicker exchange of thoughts. But Steem is where most of our activity should happen. The pace on Steem is slow and even if I find a conversation worth following I tend to check back only once or twice, which also means that anything valuable added to the discussion 2 days later will never be seen :-) (This actually makes me *not comment* on stuff sometimes, it's wasted time if you're not 'there' in the first 12 hours.) Anyway, curious to see how your decision will reflect in your posts: more posts because it's about stuff you'd otherwise have shared in Discord? More oneliners? ;-) More invites to just 'come chat below my post'? :D

Yeah, I do love both and the community part comes easier on discord, but also I need to keep myself in check, when making a post feels like an afterthought and I no longer have any energy.

it feels weird to chat on Blockchain. partiko or other phone apps may help in that. soyrosa is right, and here communication is a bit slower, but maybe it could be done. following to see what will happen 😀 Posted using [Partiko Android](https://partiko.app/referral/bil.prag)
