# Authorities in Alabama have initiated a new [targeted effort to crackdown on](http://www.timesdaily.com/news/crime/cbd-oil-is-illegal-in-alabama/article_e637229a-101e-59c2-a499-1721c5e06902.html) CBD
<center> </center> And they are unapologetic about <strike>wasting</strike> committing their resources toward prioritizing CBD-related activity and hunting down peaceful individuals who are guilty of selling CBD products to interested parties in the state. 

# No discretion?
Consumers of CBD across the country say that they've used the product to help them with seizures resulting from epilepsy, [anxiety, pain, sleep disorders, and more](http://www.wvxu.org/post/cbd-breakthrough-treatment-epilepsy-could-it-help-other-conditions#stream/0). You can find a variety of CBD products available today, many of them with little-to-no THC, which is credited with giving the 'high' that's commonly associated with cannabis use. This makes CBD a popular product for people of all ages, it's been used with [children around the nation as well as with](https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2018/06/25/cbd-medical-marijuana-seizures/) teens and older adults. There are also a growing number of veterinarians looking to use CBD products for a wide range of pets.

But authorities in Alabama are still funneling senseless effort toward a fight that can arguably never be won, prosecutors there have reignited their efforts to crack down on CBD in the state. 

## They recently held a press conference signaling their newfound interest in targeting CBD sellers and users in the region. 
<center> </center> Authorities took the time during their press conference to remind the public that <b>CBD isn't “lawful” for them to possess or sell and they want you to refrain from distributing or using it, or from 'conspiring' with distributors</b>. 

There are some <b>very strict cases in which CBD oil may be permitted for use in Alabama</b>, those have been cases in which children were part of a study at the [University of Alabama at Birmingham](https://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2015/04/carlys_law_patients_start_rece.html). 

It's mind-boggling to hear this sort of news, though not surprising, after there have been countless stories to come out about children and others who are being helped tremendously with this product.

# There is no reason that anyone in the state of Alabama should be kidnapped or locked in a cage <b>over CBD</b>. 
<center> </center> Why don't we stop filling up prisons over plants? Let prosecutors focus on real crimes with truly violent threats to the community, say murderers, arsonists, child predators, and others who violate the property of someone other than themselves. 

It's alleged [that investigators have been](http://www.timesdaily.com/news/crime/cbd-oil-is-illegal-in-alabama/article_e637229a-101e-59c2-a499-1721c5e06902.html) <b>gathering evidence for months now</b> on who is distributing CBD products in the state and <b>what an incredible and embarrassing waste of time</b> that is for them. Imagine the cost to taxpayers to fund that nonsense. No one is forcing customers to go into these shops and purchase CBD products, they are doing that peacefully and on their own voluntarily. Yet, law enforcers in the region want to place a tremendously <b>illogical</b> and costly burden on the community as a result of these exchanges. 

For those in Alabama who are [currently distributing CBD products](https://whnt.com/2018/08/23/northwest-alabama-prosecutors-going-after-cbd-thc-distributors/), if they haven't yet they might soon receive a <b>cease and desist letter in the mail</b>. Authorities have made it quite clear that they aren't going to shy away from making arrests related to this matter. 

# Alabama has one of the highest incarceration rates in the U.S.,...
<center> </center> By looking to hunt down CBD users and arrest those who are selling and using these products, it's only going to worsen the burden on taxpayers by increasing their prison population with peaceful and non-violent offenders. It's also going to lower the quality of life for those in the state *who will now have access taken away from them,* to a product that they found was able to *meets their needs*.
