Ouch.  Horror story.  That's absolutely Murphy's Law in action.  I hate to hear that since your intentions were actually to NOT be greedy here.  I'm no expert, but it's only a loss if you realize it.  It could be a dead end, or it could be a long term bear market that could boil up at some time.  If you can afford to forget about the money for a bit, maybe see how it plays out.  some people could be buying at the bottom with the same mentality, or it'll be a race to zero.
