Colorchallenge Monday Red: Ball Python / Infrared

It appears my pet ball python is hungry this morning as she emerged from under her hiding place under a hollowed out log inside her terrarium. When she's not balled up under her log she'll bask under the warmth of her 200W infrared heat lamp which gives everything in her home a red colored tint. 

Her name is *Lucy*--I used to call her Lucifer long ago until I took her to the vet and discovered she's a girl snake and not a boy. I've had this snake for almost 20 years now and it's possible she'll live another 20 years. 

Snakes definitely aren't for everyone but if you're into them they make great, low maintenance pets as they only require feeding about once every 1-2 weeks depending on how much you feed them at a time. I suppose I'll be going to the pet store to get her some food in the next couple of days because I know what it means when I see her looking at me like this. FEED ME!
