In terms of inventions I would give preference to bitcoin actually I think bitcoin, because it introduced the whole idea of cryptocurrency to the world, almost from zero. But Ethereum is number 2 in that respect for sure, because it brought great amount of innovations on top of bitcoin-like base... Because of that and bitcoin scaling problems, ETH is #1 for me now.
