its likely some have gone into dark spirits, and manifestations of reptile "aliens" are more like ai phantoms, from ghost of an ancient species template. 

darkstar holographic projected space invaders in a way, shape shift, dissappear, or dematerialize because they are quasi physical or inter-dimensional darkstar holograms of a dead species, automated by a rouge star with virus-parasite program errors.

or Reptilians are purely physical beings that may be part of some kind of borg hivemind, some individualized to some degree, using stargate or wormhole technology to tunnel space-time & underneath planets.
