Here's a little legwork...

We could compile a list of the top 100 coins, the original Bitcointalk ANN OP poster and link to the Bitcointalk thread. From there we could either;

* **Go full guerrilla:** Ask someone like me to PM them on the forum, individually or collectively, however that my come across like spam. 
* **Go part guerrilla:** Ask someone respected in the Bitcointalk forum to approach, in whatever way they feel is appropriate [this could be more than one person, if they have personally dealings with any of the Devs]. Also there may be better people in those community to approach than the OP poster.
* **Go Ape!:** We could do the heavy lifting ourselves. Copy & paste their [ann] here ourselves and post on their Bitcointalk thread something along the lines of *'the [ANN} OP for XXX coin now been added SteemIt, come and join in the conversation at https://steemit.com/trending/[XXX].' Discuss your coin and earn rewards as you go.'* Or whatever... I'll leave it to those we more of a marketing bent to decide the wording. Although ideally we'd want them to take ownership and interest themselves.

I've no qualms in collating top 100 list, if we REALLY want to down that route.

On the other hand (*and more what I had in mind*), 

* **Steady as she goes:** nothing co-ordinated, people can simply make a concerted effort to drop SteemIt conversations they're having or link to SteemIt or invite devs to join wherever it is appropriate. For example when they issue newsletters  or make an announcement on the ANN thread we can explain they'd reach even more people if they posted here. Once they join the site I'm sure they'd see the benefits.

I see your point. However I think we're very much in the 'Facebook-on-one-campus' phase. The content reflects that. We should at least be branching out to more colleges!

I think SteemIt will explode over short period of time (not sure when) or not at all. When that Steem train does leave the station, all this crypto-talk will be but a blip on the SteemIt landscape behind it. Right now, we look at 100 'up votes' for a post as rarified air. That's probably right given there can't be more than a couple of thousand active user on here at present.  We all know those figures don't bear comparison to number of 'likes' and active users on Youtube or Facebook. 

I guess what I'm saying is there aren't enough crypto buffs in the world to deter adoption if we can get the wider public to truly grasp the SteemIt proposition.
