I am also new to the Steemit platform, if you look at my posts you will see that I have barely been here 1 week.  I believe the best thing you can do to get people to read your posts is to go and read others posts and engage in genuine conversation or feedback via comments.  If you support others in a genuine way, they are more likely to be willing to support you.  It is also important to engage with people that have similar interests.  That's what caught my attention about your post, you made a comparison of 2 of my favorite subjects.
