IN1-55 is dimeric, and each monomer comprises four helices with the zinc tetrahedrally coordinated to His 12, His 16, Cys 40 and Cys 43. icosahedron coordinated by zinc atoms, angular points filled with iron atoms. zinc ion is an essential cofactor for the observed biological function of Metalloenzymes. Zinc fingers: DNA binding and protein interactions. Chloride peroxidase is a family of enzymes that catalyzes the chlorination of organic compounds. This enzyme combines the inorganic substrates chloride and hydrogen peroxide to produce the equivalent of Cl+, which replaces a proton in hydrocarbon substrate. Icosahedral capsid symmetry gives viruses a spherical appearance at low magnification, but the protein subunits are actually arranged in a regular geometrical pattern, similar to a soccer ball; they are not truly spherical. An icosahedral shape is the most efficient way of creating a hardy structure from multiple copies of a single protein.
