Lol no problem.  And congrats...  I'm trying to figure out how it can be manipulated but it seems to me like there's a method of checks and balances that eradicate the problem..

At the very least it would turn the currently always positive event of gaining new followers into an uneasy grey area where it may actually hurt your earnings to get whale attention..

I do like the intent that led to this but its a tricky thing to picture all the consequences that this change could bring.

Yes, it's impossible to fully predict how it could affect people.  Personally I think being followed by a whale would still be a good thing since my author rewards would be a higher %.  I do feel like there needs to be a way to make the betting game harder...  If you had a race with 8 horses all at the odds of 4/1 and there was only one horse that wins every race, well the bookie would lose everything.
