Here's one major thing that the whales do not understand (at least most of them):

When I delegate my SP to high value people who are social cultivators, with the bulk of their energy extending outwards to others, building both valuable projects, and investing in humans, I gain a certain amount of loyalty from these high quality people. Their loyalty extends into all kinds of areas, including but not limited to them being supportive of me. This becomes a mutually beneficial ecosystem, and most end up supporting me and my posts, because I support their livlihood. 
This knowledge came as a side effect, rather a reason i decided to delegate my SP. It became  a residual positive effect.
Anyone with long term growth in mind would realize that my strategy is a superior design, and my ROI is greater, as humans compound humans, which brings the demand for Steem...

The only problem I have with this is that stakeholders like @freedom do not create content.  So this example doesn't give them the incentive.  However there are many other ways they could use an employment system on steem to run profitable businesses.  I know a few people including myself who are experimenting with this to show how it can be done.

Not a direct incentive no.

Are accounts like @freedom playing the long game at all though? You would hope so.

Imagine 7 million SP divided out to each 'active' non-bot account.  

Say the criteria was:  

-  One blog a week minimum(for the non content creators), showing your Steemreports out-going vote chart
-  You need to cast at least 50 votes a week 
-  only 5 were allowed to be yours (to stay at 5% self voting)
- you can opt out (or fall out on purpose)

If you do this you keep your dele for another week, otherwise it's divided out to the ones playing within the rule.

How many active people willing to do this do you think we have?  10000? 5000? 2000?

7 million split between 2,0000 is 3,500 SP.  This account could do what @stellabelle and @fulltimegeek are doing on a massive scale.  

I can see the the average post reward sky-rocketing, and new users climbing to get on board!

I'm so glad to hear you say this! This is what makes people successful in the world! (and of course on steemit) I can see that you have an abundance mindset, meaning that there can be and are win-wins in the world. Too many people feel that if they win, someone else has to lose. But when we help each other, everyone benefits!
