Isnt this the truth and something that is overlooked.  The industry is like the Internet pre web browser, a jumbled mess of disconnected projects.

As for your idea, I like what you are thinking.  Even a reputation score would go a long way to providing a service to the industry.  We seem to be lacking that in a world where it is becoming increasingly more important.
