Had a chance to revisit the Godot engine (now in it's version 3.1) and I have these things to say about it. For lightweight indie games on a budget, it may be the right pick depending on your preferences.

10 Reasons to Try Godot over Unity
1. Runs and loads very fast on slower computers.
2. 2D and 3D Engines are seperate rather than pseudo 2d in 3d. Never need to worry about Z axis or Quarternions if
building a 2D game. 2D space is based on pixels across the screen which makes more sense.
3. Fully supported on Linux.
4. Free forever, no fees
5. Intuitive scene building. Everything can be broken into it's own seperate scene (similar in some ways to like a unity prefab).
You can create instances and jump into referenced scenes by double clicking. Very easy to put scenes within scenes to build a game world.
6. Can make changes to scripts while game is testing, even if debugging on mobile device.
7. Godot's UI is nicer than unity's free UI. For some reason, you have to pay to upgrade to have a dark theme in Unity. The default gray UI is ugly.
8. Godot has a very nice animation system. You can animate every property with keyframing from within the editor and it runs very smoothly.
9. Built in Reference
10. Dynamically typed GDScript (similar to Python but has advantages over Lua / Python specifically for making games in the engine) and support
for 3 other languages. I'm more comfortable with statically typed C# but a lot of people swear that Python is their favorite language to use
so many may prefer the way GDScript works.

Bonus: Super fun 2D Particle system

Nice channel idea :) I personally do not like 2D games, just the old ones, but that is a personal thing. Cool to see such content around here.
DO you also post on youtube?
