You bring up a lot of good points which make me think (which is what a good post usually does). I care for an ill elderly relative, as "the responsible one" in the family, as visitors to my blog know. So I do what I can with the time that I have. That means I get to make a thoughtful post two or three times a week. But you reminded me, that I do pop over on Twitter when I have time, more than say, #Threads or commenting over here. Here's why. I've been on Twitter since 2010, far longer than Hive. I have about 30 accounts, some I rarely post to much anymore. So I have a much larger audience over there (over a much longer period) than I've ever had here, as influence here tends to be stake-based. Your influence comes from your Hive Power, and the bigger that is, the more people want your upvote. As @acidyo, you have almost 350,000 HP, so I'm sure you never lack for attention on your posts. I've been a (sometimes) working part-time student throughout most of the Steemit/Hive era. This is where that ill relative of mine comes in, where it seems just as I begin to build my stake, an emergency comes up with her resulting in me having to liquidate some of my crypto assets to help right the ship. Many members of my family are drug-addicted grifters, so it falls to me to protect her from them and help her as best I can. That's why you see my account at 200HP after six years on Steemit/Hive, instead of the 50,000-100,000 that It might otherwise be. No HP, no influence. It's that simple. Writing high-effort posts matters little with that. But I never give up. I keep building, because I believe in this place. But back to Twitter. When it comes to issues affecting veterans, especially HOMELESS veterans, I tend to get hot-headed, and dump all of that over there. Don't even get me started on all the foreign aid we give out, while we neglect the men and women who served in the military and need our support. I blast that issue on Twitter, but try to keep Hive clean of all of those controversial opinions. You really don't want me sharing some of my "extreme" political opinions on here. :) Twitter is where I vent. Hive is a calm and drama-free little haven for me, and I've always kept it that way. I used to be very active in #LeoMarketTalk prior to the arrival of #Threads. I jumped into that a lot before this latest emergency. Earlier this year, I gave myself what I called a #500CommentChallenge to help boost engagement across Hive and LeoFinance after a prompt from a well-respected veteran due to the drop in engagement that always follows a dip in the token price. 50 comments a day over 10 days may not sound like a lot, but it is when you have my many responsibilities. I swear it felt like it took 5 years off my life, but I'm glad I did it, as I made a couple of friends out of it. I also tend to specialize in long-form content, which (I'm told) doesn't have much of an audience here, so there's that. I tend to tinker with my posts until they "read" just right. I used to spend at least an hour creating custom graphics for each post in Canva, but have had to cut back to Pixabay due to lack of time. So I "hear" everything you wrote, and my intention always is to grow my accounts HP (I'm a long-term Hiver), while creating high-effort content here, and engaging with the community. Time will tell how that works out.
