Lots of times I've been creating documents difficult to read not only in Excel... It's great to know that you can run an accessibility checking and fix all the problems. Microsoft has indeed great tools. Do you think is possible to find this options in other programs, maybe open-source? Great to find that with your project you can earn and learn!!
