There is also a check box to quickly toggle visibility of  hidden files/folders located  on the **view** ribbon in File Explorer (Windows 10).

Go right ahead. 
I often overlook some of the newer shortcuts since I have been working with Windows for a long time and have gotten used to the classic ways of doing things. It has taken me a while to come around to the concept of *ribbons* in place of *tool bars* but this handy shortcut is one of my favorites.
